In these pampered, civilised times, most of us would sooner cross the street than engage in a direct confrontation. But in the virtual realm of video games, we tend to turn into hooligans.
As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the mobile gaming scene has truly come into its own. One game that caught my eye recently is Street Fighter Duel for iPhone – it’s like Capcom and Nintendo had a baby, and this beauty is the result!
The raw, inherent instinct can be most vividly demonstrated through the platform of combat games, often referred to alternatively as action fighting, beat-’em-ups, or simply brawlers within certain circles.
These types of games regard the cowardly shooting behavior of the player with a degree of mistrust. Instead of firing shots at an enemy, why not deliver punches directly to their virtual visage using your pixelated fists?
Once confined solely to arcades, fighting games have now moved beyond home consoles and found their way into our mobile devices. They’ve managed to secure a submission hold on us, yet we persistently resist giving up.
If you’re in the mood for a scrolling brawler reminiscent of ’90s favorites, a strategic one-on-one fight game similar to other ’90s hits, or something unique blending genres that seems tailor-made for mobile devices, we’ve got some excellent suggestions just for you.
