As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for action-packed films, I can hardly contain my excitement for Milla Jovovich‘s latest venture, “Protector”. With her extensive background in high-octane movies like the Resident Evil series and Turbulence, she seems perfectly suited to take on the role of Nikki, a former war hero turned peacekeeper, who finds herself thrust back into the chaos when her daughter is kidnapped.
Actress Milla Jovovich, famously known for her role in Resident Evil, will be the lead in Protector, an action-packed thriller reminiscent of Taken. Highland Film is marketing this project to potential buyers at this year’s American Film Market. Adrian Grünberg, director of Rambo: Last Blood and Get the Gringo, has been assigned to direct. The film will reportedly start production in New Mexico this winter, based on a screenplay by Bong-Seeb Mun.
The movie’s tagline features Milla Jovovich as Nikki, a former war heroine who thought she had left her violent past behind to bring up her daughter, Chloe, in tranquility. However, when she finds herself in an abandoned factory and discovers that Chloe has been abducted, Nikki must navigate the city’s criminal underbelly, evading both police and military forces, to rescue her child.
One of several action films is set to appear at AFM this week, with producers eagerly planning for a resurgence in high-octane, adrenaline-pumping movies, and “Protector” is one such project.
The team consisting of Kenneth Kim, Bang-Ok Joo, Bong-Seeb Mun, Arianne Fraser, and Delphine Perrier will collaborate with Aanaxion Studio to produce a film. Additionally, martial artist and stunt coordinator Ho-Sung Pak is also involved in the project as both a producer and the stunt coordinator for the film. Highland Film Group is contributing financially to the project and will manage global distribution rights.
Actress Milla Jovovich will be featured in “In the Lost Lands,” directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, alongside Dave Bautista. She’s managed by Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Untitled Entertainment, and Hansen Jacobson. In short, she has three talent agencies representing her.
Highland Film Group’s existing lineup features the works of Chuck Russell titled “Witchboard”, Justin Chadwick’s movie known as “Sierra Madre”, and the production of Joe Carnahan named “Not Without Hope”.
