As a die-hard fan who has watched every single step, spin, and sashay of Dancing With The Stars since its inception, I must say that this season 33 has been quite the rollercoaster ride. From the early eliminations to the unexpected twists, it’s been a joyous journey filled with anticipation, excitement, and occasional heartbreak.
Season 33 of “Dancing with the Stars” has progressed significantly since its initial eliminations of prominent contestants, and only a few episodes remain before the champions are awarded the Mirrorball trophy. Viewers can anticipate seeing the show in ABC’s upcoming 2024 holiday schedule, but unfortunately, Alfonso Ribeiro was injured during a dance routine while filming.
The special is being made right now in Florida at Walt Disney World, with Julianne Hough joining in the process. According to TMZ reports, the former Fresh Prince actor was filming a dance sequence when he accidentally stepped onto a trolley track and twisted his right ankle.
Shortly afterwards, Ribeiro found himself in discomfort and leaned heavily on Hough and a team member to stay upright without putting weight on his hurt right foot. A chair was fetched for him to sit on before being moved to a wheelchair. Additionally, it’s said that he threw up into a closeby bin.
When Will Alfonso Ribeiro Return To Dancing With The Stars After Injury?
According to TMZ, Alfonso Ribeiro experienced a minor ankle injury, however, there are no reports of any additional long-term injuries. Remarkably, he was said to be returning to work on the Dancing with the Stars holiday special, although it’s unclear if he will continue dancing again.
It seems viewers can rest assured that the actor won’t skip the 500th episode recording scheduled for Tuesday, November 12. The statement clarifies that he will “take part” in filming the episode, suggesting that while his presence may not be as extensive as usual, he is still expected to appear on set.
It’s relieving to learn that the injury to the AFV host seems less problematic than originally thought. It would have been quite disappointing if Ribeiro had to skip this significant event for the show because of a dance-related injury.
MORE FROM DWTS
It seems that a particular dance on Dancing with the Stars tends to result in elimination more frequently than any other.
As they approach the Season 33 finale, dancers Joey Graziadei and Jenna Johnson have been triumphant for three consecutive weeks. However, Danny Amendola and Witney Carson tied with them for first place just before Halloween Nightmares Night’s controversial elimination. Remarkably, this winning streak followed Brandon Armstrong and Chandler Kinney, the all-star pair, earning the highest score during the initial four weeks of the competition.
On Tuesday, November 12, at 8:00 p.m., the 500th episode of “Dancing with the Stars” will make its debut on ABC. For those who have a Disney+ subscription, it can also be streamed.
