As a gamer with a deep respect for history and a soft spot for cars, I find the Bentley Bentayga EWB Mulliner Remembrance Day edition to be nothing short of breathtaking. The poppy-themed wrap, symbolizing resilience and remembrance, is more than just a design – it’s a testament to courage, bravery, and the sacrifices made for peace.
Bentley has introduced a special edition Bentayga EWB Mulliner to commemorate Remembrance Day and the 80th anniversary of D-Day. This exclusive model, designed by Bentley’s team and the BeReady network (a support group for veterans and reservists within Bentley), boasts a powerful poppy motif wrapping that signifies strength.
The design, showcasing 80 red poppies emerging from a map of northern France, pays tribute to the route traversed by Allied troops on D-Day, with each bloom symbolizing a life lost in the quest for peace. Robin Page, Bentley’s Design Director, describes the Bentayga as a “symbol of our shared memory,” embodying Bentley’s reverence for history and forward-looking vision.
The “Remembrance Car” is set to embark on a memorial journey across the United Kingdom, beginning with community activities in Crewe and joining the Race of Remembrance in Anglesey along the way. This vehicle will also return to Bentley’s headquarters on November 11 for a unified gathering before making an appearance at the Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire Awards on November 13.
In simple terms, James Lynam, as a co-chair of Bentley’s BeReady network, explains that this year, with the 80th anniversary of D-Day in mind, they strived to develop a design that pays tribute to the courage of those who served.
