As a seasoned gamer and Marvel enthusiast with over two decades of comic book universe immersion under my belt, I must say that the new Thunderbolts trailer leaves me buzzing with anticipation! Growing up with the original comics by Kurt Busiek, it’s thrilling to see these characters come alive on screen. The ensemble cast promises an electrifying combination of antiheroes and villains, which is reminiscent of DC’s Suicide Squad but with that distinctive Marvel touch.
During the inaugural Brazil D23 gathering this past weekend, Marvel Studios unveiled an exclusive and extended sneak peek of their forthcoming movie titled “Thunderbolts“, featuring stars like Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, and David Harbour.
At a recent gathering, the actor portraying Red Guardian unveiled the film’s trailer to the crowd. The Thunderbolts are anticipated to be Marvel’s counterpart to DC’s Suicide Squad, featuring characters who are morally ambiguous or villainous within their respective universes. The movie chronicles the team as they undertake perilous missions for humanity, inspired by Kurt Busiek’s comic book series of the same name. Jake Schreier is directing, while Kevin Feige is producing alongside Louis D’Esposito, Brian Chapek, Jason Tamez and Scarlett Johansson in executive roles. Eric Pearson, who has previously worked on Black Widow, Thor: Ragnarok, Transformers One, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, contributes to the script along with Lee Sung Jin from Beef and Joanna Calo, co-showrunner of The Bear.
I can hardly contain my excitement! It looks like I’ll be seeing Pugh back as Yelena Belova, Stan as the Winter Soldier, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine in Marvel’s upcoming blockbuster. This superhero extravaganza is set to hit theaters next spring, specifically on May 2, 2025. Check out the extended trailer above to get a sneak peek!
