CAA Hires New Chief Financial Officer

As a dedicated follower of the entertainment industry, I am thrilled to welcome John Storey to the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) as its new Chief Financial Officer. With his extensive background at Asurion and his stint as an investment banker at Robertson Stephens and Alex. Brown & Sons, Storey brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to CAA that will undoubtedly propel the agency forward in its ambitious goals.

Creative Artists Agency has found a new top finance officer from outside its ranks.

Based in Century City, the prominent talent representation company has brought on board John Storey, formerly of Asurion, as their new chief financial officer. The announcement was made public on Wednesday. Storey will be taking over from Carol Sawdye, who has been managing CAA’s finances for the past three years following Jim Burtson’s promotion to agency president.

Burtson announced that we are thrilled to have John join our team as we work towards realizing CAA’s mission to enhance our client service by venturing into new industries and foreign markets. John, a seasoned professional known for his strategic planning skills and operational efficiency, boasts an impressive record of success. His knack for fostering growth aligns perfectly with our ambitious objectives.

For almost two decades, Storey worked with Asurion, a firm specializing in IT and tech protection plans, having previously served as an investment banker at Robertson Stephens and Alex. Brown & Sons. (This version maintains the original meaning but uses simpler language for easier reading.)

Storey stated that CAA is equally renowned for its leading market position and innovative approach within the industry as well as its exceptional culture of collaboration and connection aimed at benefiting its clients. The company’s objective to provide boundless opportunities for both its clients and staff is crystal clear, and I am excited about contributing to CAA’s ongoing growth to help achieve this vision,” he added.

Sawdye, who joined CAA in 2021 from PwC network, is exiting the agency.
