As a seasoned gamer and die-hard Marvel fan, I can’t help but feel a pang of envy when I hear about Zendaya and Tom Holland working together on screen and off. The thought of sharing chemistry reads with Spider-Man himself, or even having a friendly game of Fortnite after a hard day’s filming, is a dream that’s as elusive as the mythical Nintendo 64 Golden Gun cartridge I’ve been searching for since the ’90s.
Zendaya and Tom Holland often prefer to keep their off-screen relationship under wraps, yet occasionally they share insights into what it’s like collaborating with each other on set.
In the profile for Vanity Fair’s Hollywood edition, the actress from Euphoria was inquired about whether it feels strange acting alongside Holland at any point.
She shared with the press that it was surprisingly comforting. It’s as if it comes naturally or even instinctively. When performing alongside someone, there’s an added sense of security. I truly enjoy collaborating with him; his talent is exceptional, and his dedication to his craft is palpable.
I’ll tell you, this guy never holds back, even when he’s running on empty. His dedication is something I truly admire. It’s just part of who he is, and it’s one of the reasons we connected. We first crossed paths during a chemistry test, believe it or not.
Prior to the shooting of “Spider-Man: Homecoming”, Zendaya and Holland came together and will appear together in a future film by director Christopher Nolan, titled as yet, along with Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, and Lupita Nyong’o.
Elsewhere in the profile, the Challengers star also spoke about the upcoming season of Euphoria, which is set to begin production in January. While she noted she hasn’t yet read a script for season three, she’s excited to see what the future of the Emmy-winning series is.
As for where things stand with the show and Sam Levinson, all I can say right now is that filming is scheduled to begin in January. What truly matters to me is ensuring that Rue, a character close to many hearts, is treated with the utmost care and respect. I believe my primary responsibility lies in honoring those who love her and delivering a story that does justice to her complexities.
The third season of “Euphoria” was pushed back earlier this year. According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, HBO postponed filming due to several reasons involving the production of the drama series that features Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow and others.
As a devoted fan, I’ve learned that our beloved series has been engaging in secret discussions with its creator, Dan Levinson, regarding the direction the story will take once our characters graduate from high school. He intends to employ a time leap between the conclusion of season two and the start of season three.
When Zendaya gets back to the set, it would mark two years since the release of season two, and also three years since production on it started.
The actor from ‘Dune: Part Two’ shared that he has been patiently waiting. Before starting another project, which is coming up before ‘Euphoria’, he confessed, ‘I feel a bit out of practice. It’s been nearly two years since I last stepped onto a set. I must admit, I’m feeling a tad nervous. I wonder if I can still pull it off. I’m unsure.’
However, the actress did note that she gets that feeling every time she goes on a new project.
On the first day on set, you expressed doubts about your performance, saying something like, ‘What’s the point of all this?’ You told yourself that you were awful, that everyone disliked you, and that you were sure to be fired the next day. But when the director praised your work, you responded with skepticism, thinking they were merely being polite.
