Aamir Khan feels these are last 10 years of his active life amidst deciding to quit films: ‘We might die tomorrow'

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for celebrity insights, I find Aamir Khan’s approach to his career and life quite inspiring. His decision to take on six projects within the next decade, possibly his last active years, showcases an unparalleled sense of purpose and determination.

Originally, Aamir Khan considered leaving acting and the Bollywood industry during the pandemic. However, his family managed to convince him to rethink his choice. After the underwhelming reception to Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022, he opted for a break from acting to spend more time with his loved ones. Upon returning from this break, Aamir has taken on six new projects. In a recent conversation, he disclosed the reasons behind this move, hinting that the next decade could be the final phase of his active career, as “we may not live tomorrow.

During a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir Khan shared that he had never handled six projects simultaneously prior to this. He elaborated that this unusual move stemmed from his perception that these next ten years might be the last decade of his active acting phase.

In response to Kiran Rao’s counterargument using Clint Eastwood as an example, Aamir explained that Eastwood is a unique exception, given that he is among the few individuals at his age (97) who maintains mental clarity.

He commented, “Life isn’t always trustworthy, we could pass away at any moment. Considering that, I estimate I have about 10 years left of active living. Being 59 now, I hope to be in good health until I reach 70. Reflecting on this, I decided to make my next 10 years as productive and impactful as possible.

Apart from his own endeavors, Aamir Khan expressed that with age, he’s increasingly drawn towards nurturing the talents he admires, such as writers, directors, and other artists in the creative sphere.

One reason he’s taking on more movies is because he plans to offer a stage for these talents prior to his retirement at age 70, as part of his goal set for that time.

During the same interview, Khan expressed his wish for a retirement phase. Reflecting on a moment where he almost disclosed his retirement plans to his family, Rao stated that Aamir’s daughter playfully said, “Dad, you can’t spend all your time with us if you retire, we might just go mad.

The PK character replied jovially, showing his affection for the concept of a leisurely retirement, during which he could immerse himself in reading novels and practicing yoga.
