UNDERCOVER Is Celebrating Hello Kitty's 50th Anniversary With New Sanrio Collab

As a gamer who has been around for a while, I can confidently say that this UNDERCOVER x Sanrio 50th-anniversary collection is nothing short of a blast from the past! Growing up in the ’80s and ’90s, I vividly remember the charm and appeal of these iconic characters. The fact that they’ve managed to stay relevant for five whole decades is just mind-blowing!

On various instances throughout several decades, UNDERCOVER has partnered with Sanrio, resulting in adorable keychain sets or T-shirts featuring their beloved characters. However, this recent collaboration may just be their most significant yet. In celebration of Hello Kitty, Patty & Jimmy, and My Melody’s 50th anniversary, the fashion label led by Jun Takahashi and the Japanese entertainment company have come together once more on an extensive collection of ready-to-wear garments and accessories adorned with Sanrio’s iconic figures.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but express my excitement over this unique collection! It features sweatshirts, T-shirts, tote bags, caps, and pouches, all adorned with beaded and sequined replicas of the original Sanrio characters from their debut. Plus, you’ll find UNDERCOVER’s signature “U” and bear motif scattered throughout. The sweatshirts come in three distinct styles – a hoodie, an oversized crewneck, and a pullover with a short front and long back hem. To top it off, the clothing items are available in a subtle color palette, allowing the intricate embroidery of Sanrio’s classic characters to truly shine, celebrating their 50th anniversary in pop culture!

The Undercover x Sanrio 50th-anniversary collection will go on sale at Shinjuku Isetan Main Building and Nagoya Mitsukoshi starting on Wednesday, November 20. Later, it will be available online and at all Undercover stores from Saturday, November 23. Check out the collection in the gallery above for a sneak peek.
