An FIR has been filed at Bareilly’s Kotwali police station after Jagdish Singh Patani, retired Deputy Superintendent of Police and father of actress Disha Patani, reported being defrauded of Rs 25 lakh. As per PTI, Patani was introduced by a known associate, Shivendra Pratap Singh, to Diwakar Garg and Acharya Jayaprakash from Juna Akhara.
Together with Preeti Garg and an unknown person, they supposedly assured him a significant role in a government committee, citing political connections as the reason. It is said that the accused obtained a sum of five lakh rupees in cash and twenty lakh rupees via bank transfers into three separate accounts.
After several months without any outcomes, they promised Patani that his money would be restored with added interest. But when Disha Patani’s father demanded payment, they are said to have reacted with threats and hostile behavior. Additionally, he claimed they had deceived him by adding a partner as a ‘special duty officer’, named Himanshu, to bolster their claims. Believing there was a larger scheme at play, he reported the matter to the police, leading to an FIR being filed against the five individuals for fraud, extortion, and intimidation.
