As a seasoned gamer and comic book enthusiast with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the impending release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps has me thoroughly excited. Having grown up reading Stan Lee’s tales of Marvel’s First Family, I can hardly contain my anticipation for this fresh take on their story.
Among the highly anticipated Marvel movie releases, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” directed by Matt Shakman is one to watch out for. This upcoming film promises a new perspective on the heroic family while connecting with the broader cinematic universe. Filming began last summer in the U.K., and it appears that production is nearing completion. Before wrapping up, one of the actors – Ralph Ineson – has disclosed that he’s already received his farewell gift, which is quite endearing.
In the cast of “Fantastic Four: First Steps,” Ralph Ineson is playing a crucial part, having been assigned to voice the malevolent Galactus, or the World Devourer. Despite revealing some details about the movie during production, Ineson has mostly remained tight-lipped. However, he recently shared on X a cool keepsake from his set experience – an impressive-looking sweatshirt. Take a look at it yourself:
So I’m just going to put it out there now that I would love to have one of those sweatshirts. The emblem on the side of the shirt seems to refer to the space program that Reed Richards, Susan Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm are all involved with. And, if that weren’t enough, one can see the term “excelsior,” which is the famous phrase that late Marvel Comics writer and editor Stan Lee used to say. Given that he posted about it, it seems the Game of Thrones alum relishes the shirt, and I can’t blame him.
Not long ago, Joseph Quinn, one of the cast members, shared some news about the upcoming “Fantastic Four: First Steps” at the premiere of “Gladiator II” in London. He mentioned that there were still a few weeks of filming left. However, when Ralph Ineson posted something on social media, many fans thought the entire movie had been completed. To clear up any confusion, Ineson posted another update to confirm that production was indeed ongoing.
Alright, I’ve got to be more thoughtful with my words when discussing Marvel, you see. You know that awesome Carhartt sweatshirt I’m wearing? It was generously gifted by Matt, the director himself. We’re not done filming yet, and there’s still another day left for me. Guess it’s time for me to start acting like an adult and handle these responsibilities, huh?
Marvel Debuted Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Theme Song, And I Really Love It
Ralph Ineson might want to go easy on himself given that he’s new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Although he’s had roles in well-known film series, he may not have faced the same level of close observation as he will in the MCU. With time, he’ll likely adapt to this new environment. Moreover, it’s worth noting that he hasn’t revealed any spoilers so far. Apart from humorously expressing his excitement about his Galactus role, Ineson has been fairly discreet about sharing details on the character. He’s openly praised the Fantastic Four (FF) script as “cool as hell” and admitted that his son has been schooling him on MCU lore.
Just like numerous others, I’m brimming with anticipation to witness Marvel’s First Family back on the big screen. The excitement is mutual for Galactus, and I’m confident that Ralph Ineson will excel in his role. Until then, if he’s up for it, perhaps his son could lend a hand by posting FF updates on social media as well.
Get ready to witness “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” in theaters starting July 25, 2025! To fully enjoy this upcoming movie, catch up on the Marvel series by subscribing to Disney+ and streaming the films sequentially before the release date.
