As a connoisseur of luxury automobiles and high-end footwear, I must say that this collaboration between Justin Placek and Kid River has truly caught my eye! With their shared passion for Porsche and impeccable design sensibilities, these two have crafted something truly remarkable.
Designer duo, Justin Placek known for his expertise in crafting bespoke Porsche interiors, and Kid River, renowned sneaker designer, have collaborated to introduce a line of sneakers inspired by the iconic Porsche design, specifically the New Balance 2002r model.
Following the significant partnership with Daniel Arsham, the latest launch continues, boasting a special edition 911 Dakar drop. This dynamic duo expands upon Rivers’ collection of automotive-inspired custom sneakers, encompassing iconic brands such as Porsche and Rolls-Royce. Their designs frequently incorporate timeless patterns like houndstooth, plaid, and stripes.
As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the newest custom-made shoes from River, perfectly aligned with one of Placek’s client’s interiors, come accompanied by a coordinating bag from their HANTRITT label. Placek himself has mentioned these shoes are currently being used at an accelerator in Italy. The design boasts a foundation of deconstructed off-white leather, contrasted with dark green accents and a hint of black. The ensemble is beautifully united by the primary feature – the Porsche Pepita Houndstooth pattern in black and green, laid over a white base.
According to Placek and River’s post, it seems they plan to create several more matching sets in the future. If you’re interested in having a custom set made, feel free to contact the designers for further details.
