Richard E. Grant, Felicity Jones Join Emma Corrin, Maika Monroe, Charli XCX in ‘100 Nights of Hero’

As a passionate fan of captivating and thought-provoking cinema, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about the ensemble cast for “100 Nights of Hero.” With Richard E. Grant, Amir El-Masry, Felicity Jones, Emma Corrin, Maika Monroe, Charli XCX, and an impressive lineup of talented actors joining forces, this film promises to be a visual and narrative feast that will keep us on the edge of our seats.

The actors Richard E. Grant (from Saltburn), Amir El-Masry (“In Camera”), Felicity Jones (“The Brutalist”), Nicholas Galitzine, Emma Corrin, Maika Monroe and Charli XCX have all been added to the cast of the upcoming movie titled “100 Nights of Hero”.

Filming for Julia Jackman’s adaptation of the feminist-themed graphic novel has been completed in England.

In a different realm governed by the tyrant Birdman, the story revolves around a daring wager made between two companions: Manfred challenges Jerome to successfully court his wife, Cherry, within 100 nights. If he succeeds, he will claim Jerome’s castle and wealth, while Cherry faces execution. As Jerome departs, Cherry finds herself confined in a secluded castle, wrestling with the captivating charm of her husband’s friend and her faith in her maid Hero, who becomes increasingly suspicious of Manfred’s intentions.

In her first attempt at screenwriting, Jackman took inspiration from Isabel Greenberg’s cherished 2016 graphic novel “The One Hundred Nights of Hero” and transformed it for the silver screen. She had secured the rights to the book prior to the pandemic. Expressing her enthusiasm, she shared: “Ever since I read this graphic novel in 2016, I’ve been captivated by it, and I’ve longed to bring it to life as a unique cinematic realm. I can hardly wait for people to witness what we’ve created around Manfred, Cherry, and Hero – even if you’re familiar with the book, there may still be surprises left in the story.

Rounding out the star-studded lineup, cast by casting director Olivia Grant includes Safia Oakley-Green from “Out of Darkness”, Christopher Fairbank known for his work in “Lady Macbeth”, Tom Stourton who has been seen in “All My Friends Hate Me”, Jeff Mirza famous for “Juice”, Olivia D’Lima starred in “The Killing Kind”, Kerena Jagpal from “3 Body Problem”, Markella Kavenagh recognized for her role in “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”, Clare Perkins who has appeared in “Medusa Deluxe”, Josh Cowdery best known for “Wrath of Man” and Varada Sethu, a familiar face from “Doctor Who”.

100 Nights of Hero is developed by Helen Simmons and Stephanie Aspin from Erebus Pictures, and Grant S. Johnson from Project Infinity. Additionally, Felicity Jones’ Piecrust Pictures has joined as an executive producer. WME Independent is managing international sales, while CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group are sharing the rights for North America alongside them.

Johnson stated: “For me, the project ‘100 Nights of Hero’ is comparable only to ‘Euphoria’, in terms of its potential to showcase the emerging wave of talented filmmakers, actors, and content. Contrary to its period setting, it possesses a contemporary feel. This is one of those unique projects that will appeal to every demographic authentically and sincerely. I’m proud to collaborate with these creative minds on a film that could define a generation, while furthering my commitment to backing female-led productions.
