As a lifelong fan of Latin music and fashion, I’ve been captivated by the stunning collaboration between J Balvin, Valentina Ferrer, and Willy Chavarria. This trio is not just breaking boundaries in their respective fields but also beautifully showcasing the vibrant essence of Latin culture.
For several years, Colombian reggaeton artist J Balvin and his partner, Argentinian model and actress Valentina Ferrer, have served as inspirations for Willy Chavarria’s fashion label, which champions Latin art, culture, and heritage since its establishment nearly a decade ago.
At the 2023 Latin American Fashion Awards, Balvin received the prestigious title of Latin Fashion Icon of the Year while donning designs by Willy Chavarria. In September, Balvin and Ferrera accompanied Chavarria to the BoF 500 Gala. Last month, they met up with the designer again at the 2024 CFDA Awards, where Chavarria was awarded Menswear Designer of the Year for the second year in a row.
In other words, it was logical for the three of them to collaborate in Paris for a private photo session unveiling Chavarria’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection, thereby designating Balvin and Ferrer as the brand’s official ambassadors. The photographs, taken by Diego Bendez, showcase Balvin, Ferrera, and Chavarria sporting outfits from the new line, along with personalized designs crafted at his New York studio.
In his statement, J Balvin expressed that Jose and Valentina embody a contemporary, shared affection for each other, family, and life. He finds this deeply moving and inspirational. These individuals are warm-hearted, and they’ve managed to establish a significant impact on culture while preserving their strongly Latino values.
