As someone who has seen the ebb and flow of political landscapes over the years, I cannot help but be heartened by the sight of my fellow citizens, particularly the esteemed members of Bollywood, fulfilling their civic duties on this significant day for Maharashtra. The spirit of democracy is truly alive and well when we see icons like Akshay Kumar, Rajkummar Rao, Farhan Akhtar, Ali Fazal, John Abraham, and many more stepping out to vote.
Today, November 20, 2024, marks a significant day for Maharashtra as the voting process for all 288 assembly seats commences. Many citizens are exercising their civic responsibility, including notable figures from Bollywood such as Akshay Kumar, Rajkummar Rao, and Farhan Akhtar to name a few, who have stepped out to cast their votes.
It’s not unexpected that Akshay Kumar, known for his role in Khel Khel Mein, was one of the early voters for the Mumbai assembly elections. He was captured leaving the polling station. Following his departure from the voting center, Kumar showed off his marked finger to the paparazzi and politely interacted with an elderly individual waiting outside the station.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I cast my ballot with pride, then took a moment to commend the impressive setup by the Elections Commission of India (ECI) for voters, especially our esteemed senior citizens. While addressing the media afterwards, I couldn’t help but express my admiration: “The arrangements here are top-notch! The focus on senior citizens is evident and the cleanliness is commendable. It’s crucial that everyone exercises their right to vote – it truly matters!

He also shared a photo on Instagram showing off his inked finger and encouraging others to do the same, using the hashtags #citizen, #duty, #responsibility, and #matter.
Ali Fazal and John Abraham, along with others, were photographed by the media as they showed their inked fingers upon leaving a voting station, signifying that they had voted. Meanwhile, director Kabir Khan was spotted arriving at the same polling location, carrying crucial documents. Prior to entering the voting booth, he offered a thumbs-up gesture to acknowledge the media presence.
