As a gamer who’s been through countless twists and turns in virtual worlds, I can’t help but feel a tinge of déjà vu as I navigate the latest news about Euphoria Season 3. The anticipation has been brewing for what feels like an eternity, and now, we’re finally getting closer to seeing our favorite characters again.
Fans have been eagerly anticipating fresh episodes of “Euphoria” for two years now, but the long wait for Season 3 seems to be nearing its end – or at least, the filming process is almost upon us. After multiple delays in production, it was confirmed this summer that “Euphoria Season 3” would commence filming in January 2025. Most of the original cast will return for the upcoming season, but Storm Reid has shared that she won’t be reprising her role.
Reid played the character of Gia Bennett, the younger sister to Rue (portrayed by Zendaya) in the series Euphoria. Similar to some other cast members, she’s been staying active during the break, featuring in productions such as The Last of Us. However, a comeback for Gia is not expected. During the Governors Awards, the actress informed Rotten Tomatoes that Gia will not be making another appearance, but she also expressed her anticipation for the upcoming season.
I’m thoroughly looking forward to Season 3! However, it’s disappointing that Gia won’t be back for the new season. Still, I must express my deep appreciation to the talented cast and crew of that series, especially HBO. Euphoria is truly a unique experience, and I feel fortunate to have been associated with something so culturally significant. I remain eternally grateful and eagerly await what Season 3 has to offer. Needless to say, I’m thrilled!
I find it disheartening that Reid won’t be back, given how touching and impactful her scenes with Zendaya were. Yet, I’m equally thrilled that she remains enthusiastic about future events.
It isn’t clear why Reid won’t return to her character, as she didn’t provide many details. However, since we learned that Euphoria Season 3 will take place in the future, it might be related to this time jump. At the moment, there isn’t much information available about Season 3, and even Zendaya, who plays a significant role in the show, admitted she knows little about it. So, many uncertainties remain regarding what we can expect in the upcoming season.
Although we’re not sure what the future storyline holds, we do have information about who will and won’t be part of the cast. For instance, Reid will be present, but Barbie Ferreira as Kat Hernandez won’t appear in the Euphoria cast for Season 3, given her reduced screen time in Season 2. Similarly, fans are curious to see how the series will proceed following Angus Cloud’s passing and without Fezco’s character.
At this point, only Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow are expected to continue with the show. It’s possible that additional casting decisions may be made in the near future as production gears up to start. Fingers crossed that no one else decides to depart from the project.
As a devoted fan, I’m left wondering if there’s still a possibility that Reid might reappear in the series down the line. Her departure doesn’t seem to be rooted in any animosity towards “Euphoria,” which suggests it may have been about the narrative or the actress’s other commitments. Although it’s premature to speculate about future seasons given the delay in Season 3, I can’t help but harbor hopes that Gia will rejoin us on screen someday.
As a dedicated fan of Euphoria, I’m just as eager as you are to know when Season 3 is dropping! While the exact release date hasn’t been announced yet, since filming began in January, it’s likely we’ll see it towards the end of 2025 or perhaps early 2026. Fingers crossed, production will be moving at a rapid pace and we’ll have more updates soon! But for now, let’s keep our excitement in check and show some patience – the wait is definitely worth it!
