As a seasoned gamer and die-hard Harry Potter fan who has spent countless hours immersed in the magical world of J.K Rowling, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and anticipation upon witnessing the first glimpse of Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry attraction coming to Universal Orlando Resort’s Epic Universe. The attention to detail, the immersive storytelling, and the sheer scale of the project are nothing short of breathtaking.
Enthusiasts of Harry Potter have a significant reason to feel elated today – we’ve unveiled a sneak peek at an eagerly awaited feature set for Universal Orlando Resort’s Epic Universe: Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. For the first time, this famous setting from the Harry Potter universe will be breathed life into before our very eyes.
The grand event, titled “The Ambitious Adventure,” is scheduled following the completion of the eighth and last movie. This event promises an exhilarating journey through the renowned corridors of the Wizarding World’s Ministry of Magic. To create this immersive experience, the creators of Epic Universe have meticulously planned and constructed every detail. Today, they are offering a sneak peek into their labor of love for those eagerly anticipating Epic Universe. This preview offers a tantalizing taste of what awaits visitors when they step into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic on May 22, 2025.
This attraction guarantees a seamless blend of vast, intricately designed settings with compelling narrative to deliver an engrossing Harry Potter adventure, surpassing the immersion that many visitors have felt at the park’s previous themed areas, Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade.
Anisha Vyas Burgos, Assistant Director of Projects at Universal Creative, shared during a recent New York Comic-Con panel that she believes the term “immersive” doesn’t do justice to the attraction. Instead, she described it as entering through the Metro-Floo and stepping into the grand, glamorous, and magnificent Ministry of Magic atrium in its entirety. Each time she steps inside, even during construction phases, she has been moved to tears by its breathtaking beauty. The most thrilling part is when you enter the atrium and discover that Dolores Umbridge is on trial for her wrongdoings.
Visitors will not only have the chance to wander through the atrium and foyer, showcasing a refurbished Fountain of Magical Brethren, but they’ll also step into Umbridge’s old workplace, known for its excessive pink decorations and intricate golden carvings. Additionally, guests will encounter Higgledy, the former house-elf of Umbridge, who is diligently cleaning out her former boss’ office in preparation for the upcoming trial, all while exhibiting an infectious enthusiasm.

Afterward, visitors will step onto a multi-directional elevator, capable of accommodating 14 people at once, to proceed further into the Ministry for the upcoming proceedings.
Naturally, things take a turn for the worse when Umbridge tries to evade justice, leading guests on an exhilarating chase throughout the Ministry. This chase will feature a wild dash through the Magical Archives, a vast library brimming with magical records, as well as the Department of Magical Creatures and the Time Room, which is bursting with Time-Turners and other unusual gadgets.
Stepping through the enchanted portal, I find myself in the heart of Wizarding Paris, a hidden gem nestled within Epic Universe’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic. Beyond the Ministry lies an array of unspoken delights, one being the mesmerizing Le Cirque Arcanus live show that takes inspiration from the magical world of Fantastic Beasts films. This isn’t all; there are themed dining experiences and retail outlets that cater to every wizarding need, as well as opportunities for interactive wand magic and captivating performances that will leave you spellbound.
If you find this description overwhelming, it might surprise you to learn that this is only one of the five worlds set to open on May 22, 2025, in Universal Orlando Resort’s innovative new park, Epic Universe.
