As a seasoned moviegoer who has witnessed the evolution of Disney animations since my childhood, I can confidently say that the upcoming sequel to Moana, titled Moana 2, is shaping up to be an unforgettable experience. The involvement of Dwayne Johnson‘s daughters, Jasmine and Tiana, as voice actors adds a unique touch to this much-anticipated production.
Regarding the upcoming film “Moana 2“, it appears that talent runs in the family. A recent social media post by Dwayne Johnson’s wife, singer Lauren Hashian, revealed that their daughters are lending their voices to the Disney sequel. The girls, Jasmine (age 8) and Tiana (age 6), can be heard doing voiceover work in a video shared online. As of now, it’s unclear who they will be playing in the movie, but Johnson proudly states in the adorable clip that they are “already ‘much better than daddy.’
According to a post on Instagram by Hashian (as shown below), Jasmine and Tiana are depicted entering Disney Animation Studios and heading straight for a prop from the upcoming film “Moana 2.” In the video, they can be seen reciting lines alongside their animated counterparts, who seem to be inhabitants of Motunui, the fictional island where Moana resides. Johnson is also featured in the clip, interacting with his daughters, affectionately referring to them as “Moana-Be’s.” In response, Jasmine says, “I thought you’d be bigger,” and Tiana follows up with, “Yeah, a lot bigger.” After someone off camera compliments the girls’ performance, Johnson proudly states that they are “far superior to daddy.” The post included a touching caption from Hashian, which reads:
Today was simply wonderful and full of laughter! The children had the incredible opportunity to voice characters for Moana 2, and they were thrilled beyond words. They’re like mini-fans of Moana on her island, affectionately known as the Moana-BEs. Tonight, we’ll all get to see it for the first time and listen to their tiny voices bring the characters to life… we’re bursting with anticipation! This movie has always held a special place in their hearts, and now they have an even closer bond to it. It’s truly a moment worthy of a big cheer!
Familiar Faces Are Expected to Help ‘Moana 2’s Box Office Performance
Debuted in the year 2016, the movie “Moana” became an immediate success for Disney, raking in over $687 million at cinemas. With a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it has since become a cherished classic that fans have longed for a follow-up to. Their wait will come to an end next week as “Moana 2” hits theatres nationwide, bringing back beloved characters and introducing a couple of new antagonists.
Moana, Maui, Chief Tua, Sina, Gramma Tala, Pua (Moana’s pig), Heihei (the clumsy rooster) are all present and accounted for. Don’t forget about Gramma Tala’s return, along with her companions: Moana’s pet pig and the hapless rooster. The troublesome coconuts called Kakamora are back as well, and two new characters, Nalo (a god) and Matangi, will challenge Moana in her mission to lift a curse from the island of Motufetu.
Over the Thanksgiving five-day weekend, it’s anticipated that the box office earnings for Moana 2 could be enormous. Initial forecasts from ticket sales predict potential revenues of up to $115 million just in the U.S. and Canada. If this comes true, it would place the film among the most successful opening weekends for that timeframe ever recorded. Despite being the only new release next week, Moana 2 will still have to contend with strong competition from ongoing films like Wicked and Gladiator II.
