Riya Sen drops emotional post after dad Bharat Dev Varma’s demise; 'I have no regrets now that he’s gone'

As a dedicated follower and admirer of Riya Sen, I have always been touched by her vulnerability and resilience that she so gracefully displays in her public life. Her recent post about her father, Bharat Dev Varma, serves as a poignant reminder of the unbreakable bond between a child and their parent.

On Tuesday, November 19, 2024, Bharat Dev Varma, who was married to actress Moon Moon Sen and father to actresses Raima Sen and Riya Sen, passed away at his home in Kolkata. Following the news, Riya Sen expressed her feelings on Instagram with a heartfelt message. Alongside her post, she shared a photograph and wrote, “Now that he’s gone, I have no regrets. Even when I was upset, I would smile for him and spend countless quality moments with him.

Riya Sen’s message conveyed that even when a father is no longer physically present, his influence lingers in our hearts and minds. The wisdom he imparted and affection he bestowed upon us continue to direct us. We treasure the times spent together and find solace in those memories, understanding that he remains an integral part of our identity.

The actress gratefully acknowledged his constant presence, whether in joyous or challenging times, and confessed her affection and concern for him to the fullest extent. In spite of periods of sadness, she managed to smile for him and spent cherished moments by his side.

Upon his death, Sen expressed that she harbors no remorse, viewing his exit as dignified and preordained – a testament to his authentic spirit and grand personality.

As a lifestyle expert, I can share that personally, I was profoundly touched not just by the unwavering support of my loved ones but also by heartfelt visits from my long-standing team members who came to express their condolences. Reflecting on him, he was undeniably one of the kindest, most generous, joyful, and delightful fathers anyone could have been blessed with.

As reported by ANI, Bharat Dev Varma’s health deteriorated quickly, leading his family to summon an ambulance from a local hospital in the Dhakuria region. Sadly, he had already succumbed to his illness before the ambulance arrived at his location.

Varma hailed from the ancient royal lineage of Tripura. His mother, Ila Devi, was a princess from Cooch Behar and the eldest sister of Jaipur’s Maharani Gayatri Devi. His grandmother, Indira, was the only child of Searji Rao Gaikwad III, the Maharaja of Vadodara.
