As a dedicated follower of Pakistani cinema and a fan of cross-border collaborations, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia looking back at Fawad Khan’s journey in Bollywood. His charm, charisma, and undeniable talent have left an indelible mark on the Indian film industry.
On Fawad Khan’s birthday today, November 29, 2024, let’s reminisce about his last Hindi film, the 2016 romantic drama “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,” which featured him alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. One memorable moment from this film was when Fawad couldn’t hide his admiration for Aishwarya’s beauty. Interestingly, Fawad mentioned that he didn’t have his glasses on during their first meeting!
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Fawad Khan reminisced about his initial encounter with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at a movie premiere. He described the former Miss World as ‘stunningly beautiful’, adding that even without his glasses on, she appeared ‘exceptionally attractive’.
Fawad admitted that he needed to confirm she was indeed Aishwarya because at the time, he wasn’t wearing his glasses, so he asked his supervisor for confirmation first.
Besides Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the actor has appeared in two other Hindi films as well. His first Bollywood role was Khoobsurat from 2014 alongside Sonam Kapoor. In addition to that, he acted in Shakun Batra’s family drama Kapoor & Sons in 2016.
Previously, during a private chat with TopMob, Fawad Khan was enquired about whether he remains connected with Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar, Sonam Kapoor, and other figures in the Bollywood scene.
He replied, “I keep in contact here and there. We chat sometimes and also talk on the phone, so I’ve managed to stay connected. I have had a wonderful relationship with the Kapoor family, and that connection still remains strong even with Karan and Shakun, so it can be considered as friendships.
Fawad Khan is gearing up to return to Bollywood with a bang! He’s teaming up with actress Vaani Kapoor for a delightful romantic comedy called “Abir Gulaal.” This film is helmed by director Aarti S. Bagdi and produced by Indian Stories, A Richer Lens, and Aarjay Pictures. The movie was filmed in various locations within the United Kingdom.
Speaking with Variety, the director explained that the movie delves into the story of two people aiding each other’s healing process, which surprisingly leads to the growth of affection between them.
