‘The Turkey Slayer’ Two Survivor Fan Favorites Spent Thanksgiving Together, And It’s Got Me Excited For Season 50

As a die-hard Survivor fan with over a decade of watching and analyzing every twist, turn, and tribal council under my belt, I am thrilled to see the camaraderie and friendships that have formed among the castaways even after their time on the island. The recent Thanksgiving dinner shared by Ben Katzman and Coach Wade is just another example of the unique bond that Survivor players share, regardless of their season or background.

It’s been nearly five years since Survivor aired a season with mostly returning players, but that doesn’t stop former contestants from socializing with each other. If you pay attention to their social media accounts, you might notice that many of them frequently spend time together with other ex-players. In fact, they often aren’t even from the same season, such as Survivor finalist Ben Katzman and Survivor legend Coach Wade.

Katzman is a member of the band DeGreaser, while Benjamin Coach Wade is an accomplished trumpet player who recently performed the National Anthem at a Bills game. Previously, they’ve collaborated on music, and it seems they reunited not just for music this week but also to share a Thanksgiving meal together. Here’s a charming snapshot of their gathering…

With Survivor players often socializing together and past reunion seasons indicating a trend, it seems probable that Season 50, featuring exclusively returning players with pre-existing connections, will boast a large cast. Even the legendary Survivor player Boston Rob anticipates alliances being forged prior to the game’s start. However, the specific individuals chosen remain a topic of intense speculation, potentially influenced by host Jeff Probst’s approach and perspective.

In a recent public statement, the well-known figure associated with “Survivor” expressed his interest in recruiting players with a positive outlook and avoiding those who harbor grudges. However, it’s important to note that this doesn’t exclude players who play aggressively or exhibit villainous behavior. Instead, he intends to avoid individuals with negative attitudes. This sheds some light on the matter, but the main curiosity remains: will he be seeking veterans of the game for potential castings?

Approximately ten well-known Survivor contestants have graced the show numerous times and are often referred to as ‘Survivor royalty.’ Players such as Coach, Boston Rob, Sandra, Parvati, Cirie, Tony, Rupert, and Tyson fall into this category. Some fans believe these veterans should be part of Survivor 50 due to its significance, as they are iconic figures in the show’s history. However, others argue that we have seen these players multiple times and suggest casting individuals like Ben, who had a captivating one-season performance, for a fresh perspective on the game.

I’m eagerly anticipating the upcoming season of Survivor to present an intriguing mix of contestants. It would be exciting to have three tribes with eight members each, one consisting entirely of legends, another made up of players who performed exceptionally well in a single season, and the last tribe comprising players who showed potential but didn’t finish as high as their skills suggested. This setup would provide an interesting balance and also allow us to witness some surprising relationships – for instance, the reunion of Coach and Ben.

We’ve got quite a few seasons left until we reach Survivor 50, but don’t worry, we’re almost at the end of Season 47! This season has been incredible, with some truly unforgettable contestants, dramatic breakdowns, and plenty of surprising twists. You can tune in to CBS on Wednesday nights or catch up using Paramount + if you missed it.
