Bandits

They may have government funding, but their true allegiance is to their mission. They are treated with suspicion and dread in free Stalker eyes.
Ecologists
Scientists, specifically ecologists, are diligently working under directives from the Ukrainian government. They are passionately dedicated to investigating and understanding peculiar occurrences within the Zone. Their primary objective is to apply their newfound knowledge for the betterment of mankind, but as they delve deeper into advanced fields such as antigravity, genetic engineering, and teleportation, there’s a risk that their discoveries might unleash unforeseen, catastrophic consequences.
Freedom
They form a disorganized military group bonded solely by their yearning for liberty and self-rule. The area, known as The Zone, operates without any governing body and should ideally remain an untamed wilderness. Despite being undecided about their ultimate goals, they are fiercely guardians of their identity.
The Loners
Individuals referred to as “Loners” or “Free Roamers,” navigate the dangerous territory known as the Zone without being tied to any dominant group. Driven by personal ambitions such as wealth, learning, or the excitement of discovery, they embody the essence of freedom and self-sufficiency. Many gamers find themselves identifying with this mentality, frequently crossing paths with other Loners throughout their treacherous journeys through the Zone.
Mercenaries
Hired guns, or mercenaries, are top-tier soldiers available for purchase: their intentions may remain unclear, but their tactics are relentlessly effective and brutal. Equipped with cutting-edge weaponry, these battle-hardened professionals are cold and calculating killers, ready to carry out any task required of them without hesitation. Their secretive lifestyle and merciless demeanor make them a formidable adversary, one that can appear unexpectedly within the designated area, posing an immediate threat.
The Military
At the behest of the authorities, the Ukrainian armed forces maintain a substantial presence near the designated area. Their objective is to safeguard it against unwarranted access and to contain any anomalies that might arise. Equipped with modern equipment and adhering to strict military protocols, they keep vigil at the border and take action against individuals who disregard their instructions.
Monolith
In simpler terms, The Monolith is a secretive group obsessed with an extraterrestrial object, believing it to be extremely powerful. Blinded by their fervor, they traverse the Zone on a relentless quest for this artifact, leaving no stone unturned and no obstacle unchallenged. Their actions are unpredictable and frequently deadly, making them one of the deadliest factions in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
Noon
The Noon collective comprises elusive figures once bound by the Monolith sect’s mental manipulation. Currently operating independently, they frequently confront their previous overlords. Though their intentions and objectives continue to be shrouded in mystery, this enigmatic group is poised to make a substantial impact on Stalker 2.
Spark
In the upcoming game, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, a group known as Spark will make its appearance, headed by the veteran Stalker Scar.
