Growing up in the 70s, I remember seeing the original US Navy WEP jackets, and to see this iconic silhouette reimagined by two brands I admire is a dream come true.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but marvel at the evolution of Alpha Industries’ MA-1 Jacket. This iconic silhouette, not just a signature for the brand, but a platform for collaboration, truly stands out. This year alone, Lee and Resident Advisor each brought their unique perspectives to the jacket. Now, it’s COMME des GARÇONS’ turn to grace the label’s staple with its distinctive design touch.
COMME des GARÇONS and Alpha Industries have teamed up to introduce the “MA-1 WEP Reversible Jacket.” This jacket, as its name indicates, can be turned around and features CDG taking cues from the WEP jacket that was worn by the U.S. Navy during the 1970s. Coated in a sleek black shade, it embodies the essence of the classic flight jacket design.

The jacket features practical pockets both outside and inside, has cuffed sleeves, a button fastening at the collar, and a zipper running along the center. The brand name is neatly written in all-white text, while CDG logos are etched onto the jacket’s outline. Additionally, an Alpha Industries tag is found on the back of the neck.
