As a gamer with a soft spot for Disney and a keen eye for fashion, I can’t help but be thrilled about this latest collaboration between Disney and Actively Black. With my love for Africa’s vibrant culture and my deep respect for brands that champion diversity and community support, this collection strikes all the right chords for me. The fact that it comes ahead of the highly anticipated movie, “Mufasa: The Lion King,” just adds to its appeal.

On December 10th, you’ll find the second partnership between Disney and the sports apparel company, coming after their 2022 collaboration with Marvel Studios for the launch of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” (with some remaining styles and sizes available). Starting tomorrow, you can get your hands on the limited-edition Disney x Actively Black capsule collection themed around “Mufasa: The Lion King,” which will be accessible at activelyblack.com.

Actively Black offers high-quality athleisure and sports attire that showcases Black fashion and tradition, while also backing Black communities, customers, and athletes globally. The earnings are channeled towards educational schemes and resources that foster physical, mental, and emotional wellness, as well as bolster HBCU athletics, social justice campaigns, and initiatives advocating for diversity and representation.
The upcoming clothing collection set to drop on December 10 is timed before the December 20 premiere of the Barry Jenkins-directed film. This line showcases designs influenced by the movie, and it includes premium sportswear styles for both men and women such as hoodies, joggers, tights, sports bras, and t-shirts. These items are made using Actively Black’s signature performance and loungewear fabrics.
Lanny Smith, founder of Actively Black, states that Mufasa’s story, as depicted in Disney’s “Mufasa: The Lion King”, embodies values like greatness, pride, and interconnectedness – core themes of Actively Black. This collection pays tribute to Mufasa’s legacy while appreciating the African culture that has significantly influenced the enduring popularity of the franchise. Reflecting this inspiration, the designs feature graphics, artwork, and patterns reminiscent of the African savanna.
Take a look at the exclusive limited-time collection available at activelyblack.com. Don’t miss out on watching Mufasa: The Lion King in cinemas starting December 20th. Notably, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Blue Ivy Carter are part of the talented voice cast for this musical movie, which boasts seven songs penned by Lin Manuel-Miranda.
