As a dedicated follower and admirer of Bollywood, I have always been captivated by the transformative journeys of actors who dared to chase their dreams and leave behind seemingly secure careers for the unpredictable world of films. Vicky Kaushal, a name synonymous with resilience, talent, and determination, is one such individual whose life story resonates deeply with me.
In this article, we’re focusing on an actor who chose filmmaking over engineering. He discarded an engineering job offer to pursue his passion for acting and has since appeared in numerous successful films. He even shared the screen with Shah Rukh Khan in a movie. Interestingly, he is married to a leading lady in Bollywood. Any ideas who this might be? Hint: It’s Vicky Kaushal!
Vicky Kaushal is the child of action director Sham Kaushal and has an engineering background. In an interview with Times of India some time ago, Vicky shared that while he was studying, he discovered his passion for a career in films. He stated, “I had a job offer in my hand after finishing my engineering in 2009, which I ripped up instead.
Initially, Vicky Kaushal kicked off his professional journey working as an assistant director for the movie “Gangs of Wasseypur.” Later on, he took up minor acting roles before landing his debut lead part in “Masaan” (2015). This film garnered significant praise.
Vicky later featured in movies such as Raman Raghav 2.0 and Love Per Square Foot, followed by Raazi alongside Alia Bhatt where he played the role of Iqbal, a Pakistani military officer. Subsequently, he starred in Sanju, portraying Ranbir Kapoor’s close friend Kamli. This film turned out to be a massive hit at the box office.
Among Vicky’s impressive list of films are Manmarziyaan, Uri: The Surgical Strike, Sardar Udham, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, Sam Bahadur, and others. It was his role in Uri that won him the National Film Award for Best Actor. In 2023, he had a special appearance in the comedy-drama Dunki starring Shah Rukh Khan.
Vicky’s last role was in the 2024 romantic comedy titled Bad Newz. Following this, he is eagerly anticipating the release of Chhaava, a period drama coming out in 2025. The actor is currently filming Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and co-starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. Moreover, Vicky will be the lead in Amar Kaushik’s upcoming project Mahavatar as well.
From the heart of a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement: In the magical year of 2021, none other than Vicky Kaushal walked down the aisle with the radiant Katrina Kaif. Together, they have become one of Bollywood’s most cherished duos, their love story adding an extra dash of enchantment to the silver screen.
