As a seasoned gamer who’s been virtually exploring the digital landscapes of luxury brands for years, I must say, stepping into the Dior Gold House is like teleporting from my gaming den to a dreamy, golden paradise. The immersive experience transcends virtual reality, with its surreal architecture and Thai artistry that perfectly marries the dream-like world of Dior with the rich culture of Thailand.
As a devoted Dior admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement about their ambitious venture: Dior’s grand concept store, aptly named “Dior Gold House,” is set to grace the vibrant cityscape of Bangkok. Nestled conveniently in front of the Central Embassy Mall and the Park Hyatt, this architectural marvel replicates the very essence of Dior’s Parisian headquarters, with its facade adorned in golden tiles that echo the deep-rooted cultural affinity Thailand holds for this radiant hue.
This year, the decline in luxury product sales was a topic frequently discussed, causing some leaders to speed up ongoing efforts to explore emerging markets. Dior is specifically targeting the Asia Pacific region, as Thailand shows potential with its personal luxury goods market projected to be worth $2.4 billion USD ($83.8 billion Thai baht) in retail value, according to Business of Fashion.
Dior, through the vision of Luca Albero, creates a striking impression with 6,700 square feet of gardens and 860 square feet of interior space. This grand unveiling took place on December 8, attracting high-profile attendees such as BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, ambassadors alongside Thai celebrities like Tontawan “Tu” Tantivejakul and Nattawin “Apo” Wattanagitiphat. The event showcased the latest creations by creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Kim Jones, as well as exclusive merchandise unique to Thailand such as the Lady D-Joy bag.
From the surreal architecture to the bespoke furniture, all is meticulously designed to evoke Dior’s dream-like world and honor Thai artistry. The store also displays works of art by Thai artists like works of Korakot Aromdee, Wishulada Panthanuvong, Saran Yen Panya of 56th Studio, Rush Pleansuk and Philippe Moisan of Sumphat Gallery, Boonserm Premthada, Vassana Saima and Savin Saima of Vassana and Eggarat Wongcharit. Finally, a Dior Cafe is included at the destination, serving refreshments and sweets by Chef Mauro Colagreco.
You can find the Dior Hold House right now at this location: 1029 Ploenchit Road, Lumpini, Pathumwan, Bangkok.
