As a seasoned sneaker enthusiast with a lifetime of footwear adventures under my belt, I must say that the upcoming 2025 sneaker lineup is nothing short of breathtaking! The sheer variety and nostalgia-inducing designs are enough to make any sneakerhead’s heart skip a beat.
Despite keeping quiet about upcoming sneaker releases, there’s been an unprecedented amount of gossip, particularly when it comes to major brands like Nike. Instead of allowing these speculations to circulate unchecked, Nike has taken a proactive approach by launching its SNKRS Showcase series. This initiative kicked off in October 2023 with a live stream showcasing over 30 sneakers that would eventually hit the shelves. A second event was held during Paris Fashion Week in June of this year, revealing another selection of designs for both 2024 and 2025. Now, as we approach 2025, Nike has announced a second installment of the series, highlighting 20 sneakers set to debut next year. These products have been categorized by collection, with two women-only silhouettes being featured, which were previously discussed this season.
The Women’s Sportswear Collection
The innovative Air Max Muse, first hinted at in September and later revealed in November, brings a contemporary twist to the Air Max series with its sleek, futuristic design. As shown here in its initial “Metallic Silver” color scheme, this sneaker was initially conceptualized using computational design and will have a worldwide release starting early 2025. The timeless Air Superfly for women is making a comeback, announced by Sha’Carri Richardson. Originally designed in 2001, this low-profile shoe combines running heritage with a chic lifestyle aesthetic for women. Keep an eye out for both the Air Max Muse and Air Superfly to set the stage for the new year with impact, as they are scheduled to debut in Nike’s Spring 2025 collection.
The Cult Classics Collection
For Spring/Summer 2025, Nike has compiled another exciting lineup of iconic sneakers, known as “Cult Classics,” starting with the Air Tech Challenge II. This tennis shoe, initially made popular by Andre Agassi in 1989 and reissued multiple times since then, is set to return in the colorways “Stone Blue” and “Racer Pink.” The “Hot Lava” colorway, making a comeback with a fresh twist, was its recent iteration.
The Look of Field Collection
Nike has updated its “Field” collection from June, revealing more styles for the Total 90 III and Gato. These designs were hinted at as comebacks earlier, and now we have a clearer picture of what’s to come. The Total 90 III will feature colorways like “Bordeaux,” “Safety Orange,” and “Metallic Gold” next year, while the Gato will sport its own glossy looks in “Metallic Silver” and “Metallic Gold.” Both models are scheduled for release in the summer of 2025.
The Nike SB Collection
Next year, there are several rumored launches from the Nike SB team that skateboarding enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for – these include more SB Dunk Low collaborations and another Air Jordan 4 project. Yet, the only sneaker previewed during this SNKRS Showcase is a re-release of Paul Rodriguez’s first professional model: the Air Zoom Paul Rodriguez 1. This shoe, which harks back to 2005, will be commemorating its 20th anniversary with the classic “White/Black” design.
The Outdoors Collection
Once more gracing the SNKRS Showcase series is the ACG Rufus silhouette. It made its first appearance in the collection last year and has since dropped in multiple color variations. Keep an eye out for it to arrive in “Bold Berry” and “Armory Blue” this upcoming spring, accompanied by another classic comeback – the Aqua Turf’s return. Originally part of the Aqua Gear line from the early ’90s, the Aqua Turf is set for a significant revival next year. These pink and black slip-ons are among the standout designs for the upcoming reintroduction.
The Air Max Collection
The final segment of the third-ever SNKRS Showcase highlights key Air Max releases that will be taking place in 2025. Leading the charge is the Air Max 95, which is due to return in its original form for another re-release of the “Neon” colorway in celebration of the silhouette’s 30th anniversary. From there, the Air Max Plus — a shoe that has been particularly common in recent years — is set to drop in a bold “Hyper Blue” rendition. 2001’s Air Max Craze is rumored to be featured in a new collaboration between the Swoosh and Martine Rose and is also due to drop as a general release in women’s sizing. Lastly, the Air Max 1 remains a focal point of the brand’s lifestyle lineups and has been prepared in a new “Valentine’s Day”-themed colorway. Stay tuned for updates regarding all of these shoes and more as we get ready to dive into another exciting year.
