As a long-time Marvel fan and avid gamer, this news of Nate Moore‘s departure from Marvel Studios to pursue independent producing feels like the end of an era – much like when Tony Stark decided to hang up his suit for good!
Veteran producer Nate Moore, who has been a valued member of Marvel Studios, is moving on to produce projects independently.
Moore is set to stay with Marvel up until the premiere of “Captain America: Brave New World” in February, and further down the line, he’ll be involved in the production of another “Black Panther” film.
2010 saw me stepping into the gaming studio environment, where I later had the honor to oversee the creation of the blockbuster game known as “Black Panther.” Directed by the talented Ryan Coogler, this title skyrocketed to fame, not only capturing the hearts of a multitude of gamers but also making an indelible impact on our cultural landscape. It raked in over $1.3 billion at box offices worldwide and even earned a nomination for best picture at the Oscars. In the end, it walked away with three coveted Academy Awards.
At Marvel Studios, Nate is highly valued as an exceptional executive, teammate, and friend to everyone here. He’s been a vital part of our team since 2010, significantly impacting our storytelling. Though we will deeply miss him, we eagerly anticipate seeing his future projects while also having the exciting opportunity to collaborate with him again on our upcoming Black Panther film.” (This version aims to maintain the original’s sentiment and tone while simplifying some of the complex sentence structures.)
Among his credits as a producer are the 2021 film “Eternals”, the 2022 movie “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, and the Disney+ series “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier”. He has also worked on projects like the 2014 film “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and the 2016 film “Captain America: Civil War”. In his early career, he was instrumental in developing the script for the Marvel Writer’s Program, which helped emerging writers explore Marvel’s vast collection of stories that could become potential movies, including the popular “Guardians of the Galaxy”.
Moore shared that almost everything he knows about movie production comes from his time at Marvel Studios. He feels fortunate to have worked with a team who are just as passionate about filmmaking and storytelling as his Marvel colleagues and the cast and crew of their films. However, he’s even more thrilled to use his skills and love for cinema in various genres of movies, including revisiting the world of Wakanda for ‘Black Panther 3’,” said Moore.
Deadline first reported the news.
