As a seasoned gamer who’s been through the wilds of Ark: Survival Evolved multiple times and emerged victorious (or at least alive), I must say the announcement of Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition has me both excited and cautiously optimistic. The prospect of taking my dinosaur-taming, primitive survival skills on the go is tantalizing, especially with the option to play on multiple storefronts.
Wow, it looks like my hunch was spot on! It seems like Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition is finally making its way to the stores today as promised. Just received an official announcement that confirms it! To top it off, we’ve got a brand-new trailer for you all and some exciting new details to share. Let’s dive in and see what this mobile version of Ark has in store for us!
As a dedicated gamer, I won’t bore you with the details about what Ark is all about; you can find that in my previous write-up. What I’m thrilled to share is some exciting news: Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition is landing on not one, not two, but three major platforms! You heard it right, it’s coming to Google Play, the iOS App Store, and even the Epic Games Mobile Store! This means you’ll have the freedom to play this amazing game across a wider range of storefronts than ever before.
Regarding how it functions, the core Ark experience seems to be offered for free. However, if you wish to explore more with the expansions, you’ll need to pay for them separately. Alternatively, you can opt for the Ark Pass Subscription at $4.99 per month or a yearly fee of $49.99. This subscription grants access to all current and future expansions, console commands in single-player mode, bonus experience points, occasional free keys, and exclusive server access.
Gimme freedom
The only thing that I’m potentially sceptical about when it comes to Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition is the subscription model. I think there are many who would rather have an up-front price rather than using subscriptions, but the ability to purchase expansions separately is somewhat comforting.
The ability to access the server might prove to be a significant issue, considering its nature. This is particularly relevant when you consider the integral role that multiplayer has played in enhancing the Ark: Survival Evolved gaming experience.
Regardless, since it’s essentially an advanced version of the original Ark game, there are some guidelines that remain applicable. If you’re embarking on a new dinosaur-survival adventure, our beginner’s guide to Ark: Survival Evolved could be very helpful!
