As a long-time fan of Adam Brody‘s work, it’s heartening to see him finally getting the recognition he deserves with the success of “Nobody Wants This.” His email might be fuller than ever, but I can only imagine how much more satisfying it must feel to receive quality scripts after a career spent in the entertainment industry.
Nobody Wants This has sparked an Adam Brody renaissance, and Hollywood seems to have noticed.
In the Netflix romantic comedy, Brody, portraying a recently single rabbi who finds himself smitten with an agnostic sex podcaster (Kristen Bell’s character), has garnered his inaugural Golden Globes nomination for this series. As a result, he’s been flooded with new opportunities and scripts.
He shared with The Hollywood Reporter at the Golden Globes First-Time Nominee Celebration on Tuesday that his email inbox has been overflowing due to some intriguing offers. Brody didn’t mention any particular plans for the future, but he stated that he’d prefer not to take on anything overly similar to his current project. He added that well-written scripts are a rare gem, and anyone would be fortunate to work on one.
He’s set to continue with the second season of the series “Nobody Wants This“, as creator Erin Foster and the writing team are currently developing. Brody shared that he hasn’t gone through the scripts yet, intentionally choosing not to, because if he does, his mind might start working on it prematurely, which he doesn’t want. In other words, he wants to approach season two with fresh ideas once the scripts are ready for him to read.
Regarding the recognition the show has received in terms of awards, Brody mentioned, “It might sound cliche, but filming it was a blast. Making it was enjoyable and we had a great time together, and now to be here celebrating it afterwards feels like an abundance of blessings.
The gathering for the Golden Globes took place prior to the January 5th broadcast, and it was graced by nominees such as Ariana Grande, Pamela Anderson, Kathryn Hahn, Mikey Madison, Hiroyuki Sanada, Cooper Koch, and Kris Bowers.
The Golden Globe awards are produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is co-owned by Penske Media Eldridge – a partnership between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge, the same group that owns The Hollywood Reporter.
