As a seasoned gamer who’s been through countless virtual concerts, let me tell you, Billie Eilish’s live performances at the Forum were nothing short of extraordinary! The trippy visuals and her childhood friends turning background singers added an intimate touch that made it feel like I was right there in the front row.
Billie Eilish and The Forum have a strong connection, as since 2020, the artist from LA has graced the stage at this historic music venue numerous times. Her most recent visit was for a five-night stint, which served as an exciting homecoming performance for her.
Billie Eilish started her Los Angeles run for the Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour last Sunday, 15th December. Each night had a different opening act – The Marías, Towa Bird, Nat and Alex Wolff, Ashnikko and Finneas in that order. Kicking off in September, the tour’s North American leg consisted of 36 shows, wrapping up in Los Angeles. After the Grammy Awards on February 2nd (where she has seven nominations), Eilish will travel to Australia for the international part of the tour.
This week, the focus is on her return to the Kia Forum, and here’s a glimpse of the key moments from her five-night event, which concludes on December 21st.
Eilish debuts trippy and experimental visuals
The 23-year-old vocalist, known for being innovative in visual aspects, such as her initial videos for “Bury a Friend” and “All the Good Girls Go to Hell,” consistently stays one step ahead. Consequently, it’s not surprising that Eilish carried this forward into her live performances. She utilized video backdrops for the majority of her songs, transforming the Forum into a music video stage. Furthermore, she displayed a video of herself frolicking through a meadow while singing “Birds of a Feather,” a playful jab at those online who criticized her creative choices in the song’s music video.
Childhood friends become background singers
During her set, Eilish’s long-time friends Jane and Ava, who are also her background singers, joined her on stage from Los Angeles. She shared with the audience that these three girls have been close since their childhood days and this tour was the first time they were backing her up. “We were schoolmates in middle school,” she said, “and although our lives diverged for a while, circumstances brought us back together just as they were meant to.
Billie speaks up for abortion rights
At Eilish’s concerts in 2022, including L.A., her song “TV” incited audience participation with its resonant chorus. During these performances, as well as throughout the tour, the crowd echoed her lyrics, which included “The internet is abuzz with movie stars on trial,” before joining her in shouting the subsequent line, “While they’re overturning Roe v. Wade.” Pausing briefly to absorb the moment, Eilish had been vocal about political issues prior to the 2024 election. She openly supported Vice President Kamala Harris and encouraged her fans to vote for her during a concert stop.
Charli XCX, Kim Kardashian and more celebs spotted
During the initial three days of the run, the stars shone brightly. At the first two L.A. events, Charli XCX made an appearance in music video form prior to Billie Eilish performing her part on their “Guess” remix collaboration. On Wednesday’s show, she amazed fans by inviting Billie Eilish to join her on stage.

Eilish’s concert was filled with famous faces gracing the audience. Despite a broken foot, Kim Kardashian was seen at Tuesday’s show. Simultaneously, her sister, Kourtney Kardashian Barker, showed up for the opening night.
Taking a moment to celebrate
During her performances, Eilish found herself embracing the festive mood. Accompanied by her brother and collaborator Finneas, the 23-year-old artist adorned a Santa hat on stage. At various shows, she sang an assortment of Christmas tunes, including “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”.
On the night of my concert falling on the singer’s 23rd birthday, their brother, Finneas, orchestrated a touching moment by getting the audience to serenade the singer with “Happy Birthday.” He even brought out a solitary cupcake with a single candle for the singer to extinguish, making it an unforgettable experience for everyone present.
