Thama: Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna and Paresh Rawal shoot their introductory scenes, Nawazuddin Siddiqui's character deets revealed; REPORT

As a die-hard fan of Bollywood, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming horror-comedy Thama! The prospect of Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna sharing the screen is already enough to set my heart racing, but throw in Dinesh Vijan, Aditya Satpodar, Paresh Rawal, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and I’m officially on cloud nine!

Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna recently confirmed that they are working together on a new movie titled “Thama.” Earlier this year, it was announced that Dinesh Vijan would be teaming up again with Aditya Satpodar, his director from “Munjya,” to create a horror-comedy film focusing on vampires. Recent updates indicate that the duo, along with Paresh Rawal, have already filmed their initial scenes for this project. Additionally, reports suggest that Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s character in Thama has been detailed, and he is set to join the production at a later date.

As per a recent Mid Day report, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s upcoming movie “Thama” is slated to be part of producer Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe. Instead of starting in October 2024 as originally planned, this film will now span two unique settings: contemporary Delhi and the historical Vijayanagara Empire. The production has been postponed from its initial schedule.

It was disclosed that Khurrana, Mandanna, and Rawal began filming on December 12, 2024, starting with a night shift. At Chitra Studio, a set mimicking the Delhi residence of Paresh’s character has been constructed by designers Subrata Chakraborty and Amit Ray.

The three members recorded their opening sequences here; they’ll carry on filming until December 23, 2024, after which they’ll take a break over New Year.

The group is set to gather again in Delhi during January 2025 for an uninterrupted filming period. After spending about a month filming in the capital city, they plan to move to Ooty in February 2025, with Nawazuddin Siddiqui expected to join the cast there.

Based on the information given, Reports indicate that extended filming sequences are set to take place within the forests of Ooty, as the character portrayed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui lives in the wilderness. The actor will don a distinctive style for his antagonist role, which has been designed by costume designer Sheetal Sharma.

Under the direction of Aditya Satpodar, an emotionally intense love story unfolds amidst a violent setting is scheduled for release during Diwali 2025.

During an interview with India Today, filmmaker Amar Kaushik discussed the project Thama and expressed his views on the initial collaboration between Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna.

He shared that both actors will have distinct character arcs in the film, which are expected to surprise the audience. He also mentioned that the script is currently being finalized and will soon move into the pre-production phase.

It’s important to mention that Amar Kaushik and Ayushmann Khurrana have collaborated before, specifically in the 2019 movie titled Bala.
