Das Treffen 9 Breaks Records with Southeast Asia’s Largest Gathering of Porsche Enthusiasts

As a lifelong Porsche aficionado who has attended countless automotive events across the globe, I can confidently say that Das Treffen 9 was an unparalleled experience that left me utterly spellbound. The sheer magnitude of rare and iconic Porsche models on display was nothing short of breathtaking, with highlights like the Carrera GT, 918 Spyder, and the one-of-a-kind Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade stealing the show.

As a die-hard Porsche fan, I found myself in the heart of Bangkok for Das Treffen 9, an annual event that drew car lovers from all corners of Southeast Asia and beyond. On December 15, 2024, we gathered at the IMPACT Speed Park, Muang Thong Thani, where this year’s edition of the celebrated Porsche gathering shattered attendance records, solidifying its status as the premier event for Porsche enthusiasts in the region. With a record-breaking 627 Porsches and over 3,050 passionate fans, we united under the theme of “Limited Edition.” It was an unforgettable experience, celebrating the shared love for these incredible machines.

A Showcase of Rarity and Excellence

9’s “Limited Edition” gathering showcased an exceptional variety of scarce and renowned Porsche vehicles. The ultra-exclusive Carrera GT and 918 Spyder, along with the recently revealed 911 S/T, were among the eye-catching models on display, delighting car aficionados. The Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade, a unique masterpiece crafted by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur’s Sonderwunsch department, was the highlight of admiration due to its revolutionary two-tone Chromaflair paint job, demonstrating cutting-edge artistry and skill.

Sihabutr “Tenn” Xoomsai, a co-founder of Das Treffen, pondered over the event’s triumph, expressing his thoughts as follows: “The massive attendance at Das Treffen 9 underscores yet again that Southeast Asia boasts one of the most lively and fervent Porsche enthusiast groups globally. We are deeply appreciative of the numerous owners who embarked on lengthy trips to participate in this assembly.

Porsche Village Debut

At Das Treffen for the very first time, Porsche Asia Pacific and Porsche Thailand unveiled a special hospitality zone called Porsche Village. This spacious, open-air pavilion with two stories provided attendees an impressive bird’s-eye view of the event. Inside, visitors could enjoy interactive activities such as racing simulators, a Manthey-customized 911 GT3 showcase themed around Raceborn, and a Porsche Lifestyle shop.

Yannick Ott, Director of Marketing at Porsche Asia Pacific, noted that the meeting showcases how deeply Porsche values both its sports cars and its community. He went on to express that it’s truly inspiring to witness individuals from various backgrounds coming together annually in their shared love for Porsche.

A Milestone Year for Porsche in Thailand

As a gamer, I’d put it like this: “This event was the cherry on top of an amazing year for me as a part of the Porsche Thailand family. Some of the highlights that stand out include the debut of the regionally-assembled Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupe, the grand opening of Porsche Centre Bangna, the introduction of Curvistan Bangkok, and the exciting news about the upcoming Porsche Design Tower Bangkok.

Pawarapa Dupassakoon, Director of Marketing & PR at Porsche Thailand, stated: “Following an exceptional 2024, we decided to show our gratitude to the community by organizing a day filled with camaraderie and Porsche enthusiasm. The Das Treffen event has been expanding, bringing together fans in honor of our mutual affection for the brand.

The Spirit of Das Treffen

Initially planned as a small get-together among close companions, Das Treffen has grown into a cultural sensation that surpasses geographical boundaries. Participants at Das Treffen 9 came from all over the region, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and others, each carrying an extraordinary passion for the rich history and innovative future of Porsche.

In Southeast Asia, Das Treffen 9 stood out as the biggest gathering for Porsche enthusiasts, honoring the legendary sports cars and the spirited community that continues to uphold the Porsche legacy. The success of this record-breaking event has fueled anticipation among fans about what the next edition, marking its tenth year, will offer.
