As a longtime fan of Robert De Niro‘s exceptional acting skills and gripping performances, I am thrilled to see him stepping into the world of television for the first time with such a captivating series like Zero Day on Netflix. The teaser alone is enough to pique my curiosity, with its intricate plotlines, high-stakes political drama, and De Niro’s commanding presence as former president George Mullen.
Netflix unveiled a sneak peek for their upcoming miniseries titled “Zero Day“, featuring the renowned actor, Robert De Niro, making his debut in a recurring television series.
In this suspenseful drama, Robert De Niro portrays George Mullen, a previous president, who is assigned by the current president, Angela Bassett, to head a committee following a disastrous cyber assault. She informs Mullen that Congress will grant the commission the authority for both monitoring and conducting searches and seizures.
“So they’re just gonna grab people off the streets without warrants,” he replies. “Actually, you are,” she replies. Later, the president says, “People believe what they need to believe. The truth is the truth, but it’s not always the most important thing” — hinting at the conspiracy-thriller elements of the show.
