The absence of dominating male figures in today’s Bollywood landscape is indeed palpable, much like the void left by a missing puzzle piece.

Vivek Oberoi, known for his straightforward opinions, shared his thoughts on Ajay Devgn’s statement regarding the scarcity of strong male leads in Indian cinema. He agreed with Ajay and pointed out that there is currently a void in Bollywood due to the absence of actors like Sunny Deol, Ajay Devgn, or Jackie Shroff who command attention as soon as they enter a room.

In an interview with MensXp, Vivek Oberoi pointed out a gaping void in the industry caused by the scarcity of powerful male leads. He elaborated that today’s actors seem to be missing the charismatic aura that Amitabh Bachchan exuded in the 70s, which made him captivating and drew audiences in. However, this role has yet to be filled again, as it was by stars such as Sunny Deol, Ajay Devgn, and Sanjay Dutt during their time. But once more, it remains vacant.

Vivek’s remarks underscore the sentiment shared by many fans, yearning for the grand personas that were integral to Bollywood’s history. He pointed out the void left behind, questioning aloud, “Is there anyone like Sunny Deol in the future? No. Anyone akin to Ajay Devgn? No. Anybody as charismatic as Sanjay Dutt? I don’t see anyone stepping up and filling that space.

As per Oberoi’s perspective, historical male actors didn’t merely act; they exuded an air of strength. Their self-assured demeanor drew viewers in, compelling them to look. These stars had a commanding on-screen presence that captivated and made a statement without needing words. This quality set them apart from others. Unfortunately, he notes that this trait seems to be growing scarce among today’s younger actors.

Vivek shares the belief that Southern movies are taking on a significant role in the film industry. He emphasized that stars such as Allu Arjun (Pushpa), Yash (KGF), and Prabhas have managed to assert their dominance. This is one of the main factors behind their widespread appeal, with audiences across India, including the North, embracing their films. Vivek thinks that the admiration for Southern actors stems from the powerful, captivating aura they exude – an element that Bollywood seems to be lacking at present.

Speaking more casually, he explained that a boy enters a room with the hope of making everyone happy, whereas a man goes in with the understanding that he doesn’t need to seek approval from others.

In simpler terms, the actor from the show Saathiya stressed that this situation shows how Indian cinema is evolving. Since Bollywood has difficulty portraying its main characters, actors from the South are gaining nationwide recognition by filling that gap.
