Tyler, the Creator Surprise Drops a Remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “Hey Now”

As a long-time fan of Tyler, the Creator and his incredible body of work, I was absolutely thrilled to see him drop a surprise Christmas gift this year! The freestyle remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “Hey Now” titled “That Guy” is nothing short of fantastic. Watching the music video, directed by none other than Tyler himself, feels like taking a trip back to his hometown of Hawthorne, California, where we get a glimpse of his Odd Future brothers and their antics.

As a dedicated fan, I was thrilled when Tyler, the Creator unwrapped a delightful surprise this holiday season – a fresh freestyle remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “Hey Now,” taken from his latest masterpiece, the GNX album. It’s moments like these that make being a gamer and music enthusiast truly rewarding!

On Christmas Day, Tyler releases his fresh freestyle track “That Guy,” rhyming over Kendrick Lamar’s “Hey Now” beat. The song is accompanied by a music video that Tyler himself directed, showcasing various locations in his hometown of Hawthorne, California. In the video, we see Tyler and some of his Odd Future crew members like Jasper Dolphin, Travis “Taco” Bennett, and Lionel “L-Boy” Boyce attempting to ride bikes together up an empty street. The freestyle showcases Tyler boasting about his wealth, influence, and affluence, referencing Kendrick’s Pop Out concert in LA back in June. In the lyrics, Tyler raps, “Lil bunny hop out, you seen me at the pop out / Pandemonium screaming like they brought Pac out / Stop it with the chit chat we airing out the kickback / Big stud energy the way I get my lick back / Hey now say now I’m all about my bands / Shit I’m on bitch you wouldn’t understand.
