As a longtime fan of DC Comics, I am thrilled to hear that Jason Momoa will be taking on the role of Lobo in the upcoming film “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow”! With his impressive physicality and charisma, he is perfectly suited to bring this iconic anti-hero to life.
Having grown up reading DC comics, I remember the first time I encountered Lobo – a bounty hunter with unparalleled strength and a love for violence. His regenerative abilities were always one of my favorite aspects of the character, and I can’t wait to see Momoa portray this unique trait on screen.
I imagine the moment when Lobo regenerates after his entire body is destroyed as an epic and visually stunning scene. With Momoa’s physicality and the advanced special effects at our disposal today, I believe we are in for a treat.
It’s exciting to think about what other classic moments from Lobo’s comic book history will make it into the film, and I can’t wait to see how Momoa brings this complex character to life in the DC Universe franchise.
As a long-time comic book enthusiast with a particular fondness for antiheroes, I must say that Lobo stands out among the rest due to his enduring popularity over the decades. His unique appearance and rough demeanor certainly catch the eye, but it’s his incredible powers that truly set him apart. One of the most intriguing aspects of this character is his immortality, which has been a captivating aspect of Lobo’s story since his debut.
I remember reading about instances where Lobo was seemingly killed only to return later, leaving readers in awe. The way he regenerates from even the tiniest remnants of his body is nothing short of extraordinary. I can still recall the shock I felt when I first read about how Lobo reformed from just a pool of his own blood – it was a testament to the character’s unparalleled resilience.
In my opinion, this regenerative ability is one of the key factors that have kept Lobo relevant and engaging for so many years. The fact that he can never truly be defeated adds an element of suspense and unpredictability to his stories that keeps readers on their toes. It’s a testament to the creativity and skill of the writers who continue to find new and interesting ways to challenge this seemingly indestructible bounty hunter.
In short, Lobo is a captivating character with an intriguing backstory, distinctive appearance, and unmatched powers that have kept him popular for over three decades. His immortality and regenerative abilities make him one of the most unique and enduring characters in comic book history, and I eagerly await each new adventure featuring this formidable Czarnian bounty hunter.

Given that the upcoming film “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” is likely to receive a PG-13 rating, it’s unlikely we’ll witness Lobo’s regenerative abilities in all their grisly detail, similar to how Deadpool and Wolverine healed from extreme injuries in their joint MCU film last year. However, this doesn’t mean I want Lobo to be weakened to make Supergirl look good; rather, it suggests that Lobo should be a formidable foe for Kara Zor-El (played by Milly Alcock) in her solo movie. But the goal is not to have Lobo defeated permanently by Supergirl; instead, he should pose a challenge she can delay or trap, but never truly conquer.
Instead of depicting a pool of blood, we could show a scene where Jason Momoa’s Lobo is reduced to ashes after being incinerated. Later, he reforms from these ashes, similar to a mythical creature rising from its own remains. If Kara, being similar to Superman, follows a no-kill rule, one of her allies from “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” could take care of Lobo with their non-lethal methods. This would make for an incredibly cool moment to see Lobo rise again like a phoenix, but with his unique characteristics – foul-mouthed, alcoholic, and Spacehog-riding.
In the upcoming DC film, audiences worldwide will encounter Lobo for the first time, making Jason Momoa’s portrayal of the character crucial to make an impact. I have faith that Momoa won’t disappoint in terms of his acting, but it’s essential for “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” to establish Lobo as an indestructible force. We should witness Lobo’s body being completely annihilated, only for him to reform later. If Supergirl, aka Kara Zor-El, is to get rid of this nuisance, she’ll need to rely on her intelligence rather than brute strength.
As a long-time comic book fan who grew up reading about Lobo, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming release of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira. Having spent countless hours poring over DC comics, I have always been fascinated by the unique and chaotic character of Lobo, a bounty hunter from the planet Czarnia.
I remember eagerly waiting for each new issue featuring this anti-hero, marveling at his raw power and unapologetic attitude. The fact that Jason Momoa will be portraying him in the upcoming movie is nothing short of a dream come true. I’m hopeful that we’ll get our first glimpse of Momoa as Lobo sometime this year, and I can hardly wait to see him bring the character to life on the big screen.
If you’re like me and are eager to catch up on Lobo’s history before the movie hits theaters, I highly recommend checking out the short-lived TV series Krypton for free on Tubi. It may not focus on Lobo himself, but it does delve into the rich lore of his home planet and offers a glimpse into the world that birthed such a unique character. I believe that understanding this background will only enhance our appreciation for the upcoming movie and make the experience even more rewarding.
I eagerly await June 26, 2026, when Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will be released, and I hope to see many fellow fans joining me in celebrating this exciting new chapter in Lobo’s story.
