‘Utter Madness.’ The Latest Update On House Of The Dragon Season 3 Has Me Both Pumped And Bummed

As a dedicated fan who has lived through the highs and lows of Westeros alongside the characters of “Game of Thrones” and now “House of the Dragon”, I find myself both elated and disheartened by the latest updates on Season 3. The prospect of seeing the epic battles that lie ahead, such as The Battle of the Honeywine, Butchers Ball, and the Storming of the Dragonpit, is tantalizingly close, yet frustratingly distant.

The news that production for Season 3 will begin in early 2025 has me excited about what we’ll see, but as a book fan who’s been eagerly awaiting these events since I first read the pages, the wait is testing my patience. The memories of the controversial ending of “Game of Thrones” linger, and the concerns regarding the direction of “House of the Dragon” are not alleviated by George R.R Martin’s expressed dissatisfaction with Season 2 choices.

Despite these apprehensions, I remain hopeful that the show will stick the landing and deliver a satisfying conclusion to this epic saga. In the meantime, I’ll continue to rewatch Seasons 1 and 2 on Max, reminding myself of why I fell in love with Westeros in the first place – and maybe sneak a few peeks at the latest production updates, just to keep the anticipation burning.

On a lighter note, one can’t help but wonder if the Seven Kingdoms have their own version of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” – a Uteros-ian group of children who band together to save Westeros from the impending war, with a catchy theme song and epic battles. Now that would be something I’d wait eagerly for!

With the approaching launch of Season 3 of HBO’s “House of the Dragon”, fans are naturally thrilled about diving into the heart of the Iron Throne battle. Recently, showrunner Ryan Condal disclosed some preliminary details about when filming will start for the next season and a hint regarding the release date for the upcoming episodes on Max. This information both excites me and leaves me somewhat disappointed.

Ryan Condal, the mastermind behind “House of the Dragon,” recently discussed Season 3’s filming schedule on the podcast “The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of.” With the narrative now delving into the peak of the conflict between the Greens and the Blacks, fans are eagerly awaiting the intense battles promised in the upcoming season. When asked about the current year’s production plans, Condal shared his insights.

2025 will be quite chaotic, starting from early January and lasting all the way into the autumn, as we’ll be heavily engaged in production during this period.

David Mandel offered some behind-the-scenes information on crafting a long-running series. He explained that the second season is often utilized to correct noticeable flaws from the first season, while the third season allows the show to settle and refine minor details, smoothing out any remaining issues. Given this approach and the upcoming story developments, the latest update from Ryan Condal on HOTD leaves me eager for Season 3, as it seems they are diligently working to make improvements.

Regarding the upcoming season, Condal hinted that filming for Season 3 would kick off in the early part of this year without providing precise dates. He did however offer a general timeline, suggesting it will happen soon.

We do, I don’t want to say it because it’ll be a thing, but it’s first quarter 2025.

Although no specific start date for production has been set yet, they’re about to begin working on it shortly. Therefore, anticipation and discussions around HOTD are bound to pick up once we get glimpses of the production process and more, which is truly thrilling!

As a book enthusiast who loves everything related to books, I must confess that I’m feeling a bit disappointed since production hasn’t started just yet. It’s primarily because there are several significant battles from the books that I can’t wait to witness on screen, including The Battle of the Honeywine, Butchers Ball, the Storming of the Dragonpit, and of course, The Battle of the Gods Eye. Moreover, the Season 2 finale of House of the Dragon hinted at a massive war that should kick off in full swing during Season 3, making the wait for all this action quite challenging.

As a dedicated book fan, I must admit I’m quite apprehensive regarding “House of the Dragon” and its final act. The ending of “Game of Thrones” left me with some reservations, and it doesn’t help that George R.R Martin himself has expressed his displeasure over certain decisions made during Season 2. So, as the wait for the next season continues, I find myself growing increasingly restless.

In summary, details regarding Season 3 of House of the Dragon remain scarce since the cast hasn’t been privy to much information yet, and production has not officially started. Fingers crossed that we receive more updates soon! I’m optimistic given how captivating the series has been thus far.

As we patiently anticipate the arrival of the next season, we’ll stay vigilant and share all the latest updates about “House of the Dragon”. Of course, in the meantime, you can enjoy Seasons 1 and 2 on Max.
