Arjun Kapoor reveals he got less work from Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions due to Varun Dhawan; the reason will stun you

In the vibrant world of Bollywood, Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan are two stars who enjoy a strong friendship beyond the silver screen. Not long ago, Arjun recounted an amusing story about their camaraderie with Varun, disclosing that they created a brief film while learning the craft of acting. However, it was Varun, the director, who played a practical joke on Arjun, showcasing it to Karan Johar. In jest, Arjun implied that this prank might be the reason behind fewer opportunities coming his way from Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

In a recent chat with Galatta India, Arjun Kapoor recounted the story of the short film they made together. It turns out that they were both students at Barry John’s acting school. While there, their coach Saurabh Sachdeva was directing them for a project when Varun Dhawan persuaded Arjun to take on an acting role in the short film. However, things took an unexpected turn as it was actually Varun who ended up directing the movie instead!

He reminded me that Varun tricked me during our acting classes when we were working on a short film project. Instead of giving me the lead role as he promised, he gave it to himself and made me the villain without informing me about the change.

Kapoor expressed surprise upon seeing the completed movie and disclosed that the actor from Citadel Honey Bunny (let’s call him Actor X) had personally screened a short film for filmmaker Karan Johar. Subsequently, this topic was brought up during an episode of the filmmaker’s talk show, which also featured Varun Dhawan. In jest, the actor from Ishqzaade (let’s call him Actor Y) suggested that he may have been responsible for a reduction in projects from Dharma Productions at one time.

In his career, Arjun Kapoor recently appeared as the villain in Rohit Shetty’s action movie, Singham Again, earning praise for his acting skills. Upcoming projects for him include No Entry 2, working alongside Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh under Anees Badass’ direction. Additionally, he has a comedy film titled Mere Husband Ki Biwi in development, with Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh as his co-stars.
