Triptii Dimri says she never looked at Ranbir Kapoor led Animal as ‘anti-feminist film’; reveals reason behind agreeing to do Bulbbul and Qala

In an interview, Triptii Dimri discussed her role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s movie Animal, which released in 2023 and starred Ranbir Kapoor. The film garnered commercial success but faced mixed reviews, with some critics claiming it promoted harmful masculinity. However, Triptii stated that she never viewed the film as anti-feminist, as it provided a significant opportunity for her acting career. Moreover, her personal connections to the characters in Qala and Bulbbul inspired her to participate in both projects.

In a chat with Filmfare, Triptii Dimri clarified some concerns about her choice to star in a movie perceived as “anti-feminist”, given her past roles in films like Bulbbul and Qala. She stated that she doesn’t categorize movies based on such labels. Instead, she revealed that her involvement in projects stems from her emotional bond with the characters and faith in the filmmakers’ vision.

In discussing the film “Animal” led by Ranbir Kapoor, she shared that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga disclosed only a few aspects of the plot but emphasized the details of her character instead.

Dimri felt drawn to the part because it provided a shift from the virtuous characters she’d previously portrayed, offering her a thrilling chance to delve into a new type of character.

Triptii went on to mention that Vanga’s distinctive viewpoint about her character captivated her. He explained that he saw a blend of innocence and kindness in her eyes, along with a strong resolve to accomplish her goal, which she found both intriguing and motivating. This aspect, she noted, played a significant role in her choice to accept the part.

Beyond this, Triptii admitted to being drawn towards the charm of participating in a high-budget production, given that her past works such as Bulbbul and Qala were more modest in size. She voiced enthusiasm about the chance to absorb knowledge from this venture and understand the intricacies of creating grand-scale films, all the while preserving her fervor for the type of projects she has tackled previously.

2024 saw Triptii Dimri making a mark on the big screen, starring in multiple movies. She acted alongside Vicky Kaushal in Bad Newz, paired with Rajkummar Rao for Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, and collaborated with Kartik Aaryan in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
