Actress Simar Bhatia, the niece of Akshay Kumar, is gearing up for her Bollywood debut with the upcoming film titled Ikkis. In this movie directed by Sriram Raghavan, she will be sharing screen time with Agastya Nanda. Recently, Akshay Kumar took to social media to express his pride in Simar’s achievements and also shared a special message, wishing that his mother could have been present today to applaud her talents.
On the 6th of January, 2025, Akshay Kumar used Instagram to post an image of a newspaper featuring his niece, Simar Bhatia, along with details about her forthcoming acting debut.
Akshay shared in the caption that his joy upon viewing Simar’s picture surpassed the joy he felt when he first saw himself on a newspaper cover. He expressed, “I thought the joy I felt when I saw my picture on the newspaper cover was the ultimate happiness. But today, I can confirm that the joy of seeing your child’s photo here exceeds everything.
The actor also revealed what he believes his mother would have told Simar. In his own words, he penned, “If only my mom was present today, she would have told you ‘Simar, my son, you are extraordinary.’ Wishing you all the best, my dear, the sky is yours.

The movie focuses on Ikkis, detailing the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal, a hero honored with India’s highest military decoration, the Param Vir Chakra. Besides Simar Bhatia and Agastya Nanda, Dharmendra also appears in this film. Under the production house Maddock Films, led by Dinesh Vijan, it is being made.
Currently, Akshay Kumar is getting ready to provide entertainment over the upcoming Republic Day weekend with his next film, Sky Force. The trailer for this movie was recently revealed at an event in Mumbai. Alongside Akshay, the cast includes Veer, Sara Ali Khan, Nimrat Kaur, and Sharad Kelkar. Directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapur, Sky Force is being produced by Dinesh Vijan, Amar Kaushik, and Jyoti Deshpande.
