UFC Chief Dana White to Join Mark Zuckerberg on Meta Board of Directors

It’s been announced unexpectedly that Dana White, head of UFC, is set to become a member of the board for Meta Platforms Inc, the corporation that governs Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

As a passionate mixed martial arts aficionado (that’s me!), I’m thrilled to share that our CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, made an exciting announcement on Monday: the expansion of our board with two new members, John Elkann and Charlie Songhurst, joining White.

Mark Zuckerberg stated that Dana, John, and Charlie possess a wealth of knowledge and viewpoints that will be essential as we face the immense possibilities in AI, wearable technology, and the future of human interaction,” Zuckerberg said in his statement.

In a Facebook post, Mark Zuckerberg mentioned that he’s been diligently seeking out new board members. He expressed his admiration for the entrepreneur in question, stating that he appreciates him for creating such an adored brand.

White stated, “I hadn’t considered joining a board of directors until I received the invitation to be part of Meta’s board. In fact, I firmly believe that social media and artificial intelligence hold great promise for the future.

He expressed his eagerness about becoming part of such an amazing group, eager to grasp more insights about their company. What excites him most is brand development, and he can’t wait to contribute towards advancing Meta further.

White is appointed to the board alongside John Elkann, who serves as CEO of European investment company Exor and also holds the position of executive chairman at Ferrari; and Charlie Songhurst, an experienced technology investor.

Mark Zuckerberg and Brian White share a cordial relationship, with the creator of Facebook occasionally attending Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) events. Moreover, Zuckerberg has undergone training sessions with professional UFC athletes, and has even participated in some local mixed martial arts fights in California.

White has a strong rapport with the incoming President Trump, whom tech leaders like Zuckerberg have been attempting to build connections with in anticipation of his second term.
