The filmmaker Jon M. Chu has recently experienced significant triumph with the launch of “Wicked“. As part two of this project is currently underway, Chu is simultaneously engaged in the development of a biographical movie about the iconic singer, Britney Spears.
As a dedicated fan of Britney Spears, I eagerly followed the director’s words at the Golden Globes red carpet about the upcoming biopic based on her best-selling memoir, “The Woman in Me”. Chu expressed, “I can’t reveal too much yet, but let me tell you, I’ve been a Britney fan since we were both young. She was one of 12 acts at the Shrine Auditorium back then.” He continued, “I want to do justice to her story and portray it accurately. We’re in the development stage now, so it’s a long journey ahead, but we’ll see.” In another interview with Entertainment Weekly, Chu shared, “Britney will be deeply involved in this project. I haven’t started anything concrete yet, but she will play a significant role in shaping this story. I have ideas and plans, but it’s still early days.
