Palisades Fire: High School Featured In Several Hollywood Movies Burned Down

The Palisades Fire has consumed the Palisades Charter High School, a well-known venue often used in film and television productions.

On Tuesday evening, NBC Los Angeles shared news that a fire swept across multiple buildings at the Pacific Coast High School campus, leaving only ruins of the neighboring Theater Palisades.

With the fires persistently burning, Governor Gavin Newsom of California has announced a state of emergency, causing almost 30,000 residents to be instructed to leave their homes.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my excitement over a place that holds a special charm for me – PCHS. This school has an extraordinary claim to fame; it’s been the go-to location for some of Hollywood’s most memorable productions! It was famously known as Bates High School in Brian De Palma’s chilling 1976 horror masterpiece, Carrie. The school also played a significant role in the 2003 remake of Freaky Friday, the hit TV series Teen Wolf, Nima Nourizadeh’s 2012 film Project X, and the delightful 2001 teen rom-com Crazy/Beautiful. Simply put, PCHS has a knack for making it onto the silver screen!

This school is particularly proud to count among its alumni a number of accomplished Hollywood figures such as J.J. Abrams, will.i.am, Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Katey Sagal, Peter DeLuise, Thomas Newman, Penelope Ann Miller, Amy Smart, Adam Shankman, and more.
