Farah Khan, renowned choreographer and filmmaker who’s worked with most Bollywood A-listers like Shah Rukh Khan, confesses that teaming up with him has grown tougher. She clarified that the stakes rise each time they create a song together because their previous collaborations have produced some unforgettable, legendary tracks.
In a recent conversation with ETimes, Farah Khan shared her heartfelt appreciation for the enduring friendships she’s nurtured in Bollywood, some of which trace back to a time before these friends rose to stardom. She warmly reminisced about how her relationship with Shah Rukh Khan blossomed, well before the releases of Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Deewana.
The movie creator mentioned that even though they’ve been friends for many years, collaborating with him has grown increasingly difficult as time goes by. She also commented, “It was tough working with him back then; it’s even tougher now. Each time we compose a new song, the stress multiplies because we have produced such legendary songs in the past.
Additionally, Farah shared that following the celebration of New Year’s, she opted to step away from directing for a spell because there weren’t any compelling projects coming her way. Instead, she spent this period prioritizing her family, cherishing precious time with her children and embarking on vacations.
She expressed her eagerness to get back into directing again, but stressed that this would occur only when an ideal screenplay presents itself and when the situation seems perfectly timed.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, let me shed light on an unforgettable partnership in the realm of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan. These two have left indelible marks on the industry, co-creating some truly iconic films that continue to captivate audiences. It was under Farah’s direction that she made her directorial bow with Main Hoon Na, followed by collaborations on Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year with none other than Shah Rukh Khan himself.
Prior to her directorial debut, she had already made a mark in the industry by working as a choreographer on movies such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Dil To Pagal Hai, thereby establishing a powerful professional relationship with them.
