Over the past several days, the wildfires burning near Los Angeles have brought devastating damage. These disasters have forced many from their homes, disrupting and altering countless lives. Additionally, these fires have led to delays in filming for shows such as “Fallout,” “NCIS,” and numerous other projects currently in production or slated for the 2025 TV schedule. As the situation persists and firefighters strive to control the blaze, celebrities like Kevin Smith, Mandy Moore, and Denise Crosby are sharing updates about their personal experiences with these fires and the impact on their homes.
Kevin Smith Thanks Firefighters And Provides An Update About His Home
Kevin Smith started his Instagram video by giving a “huge hearty thank you to the LA Fire Department” and other people who came to help put out the fires. He then went on to explain that he lives near Runyon Canyon, and there were planes flying over it last night dumping water down to put out the fire. It worked, and his home is still standing, as he explained:
The heaven-sent firefighters, who looked more like children than adults, arrived in their aircrafts. These planes seemed to have the ability to collect water from a reservoir and then release it onto Runyon. They managed to extinguish that fire at an incredible speed. I can’t thank you enough. When I walked away from this house, I thought everything we owned was lost, but as long as we had our lives, the dog, and our child was safe, that was all that mattered. But when I returned home, I didn’t find a pile of ash, instead, those firefighters, bless them, God bless them. They were nothing short of miraculous. Someone said, “It seems as if angels are watching over us.” Indeed, they were. They wore peculiar hats and boots and fought against the flames.
In the next video, Smith clarified that the firefighters successfully rescued not only our house but also our entire community.

As reported by Deadline, the Sunset Fire that caused issues at Runyon Canyon has been completely brought under control, and all evacuation instructions have been withdrawn.
Denise Crosby Shares That She Lost Her Spanish Cottage Home
Actress Denise Crosby, known for her role in Star Trek, recently suffered a tragic loss as her home in The Palisades was consumed by the fire. According to reports from People, she shared videos of the Sunset Blvd. blaze on X and expressed fear that her house, which had stood for 100 years, might be destroyed.
Yesterday, she shared a picture showing where her house once stood, along with the sad update that it no longer exists.
Currently, as I’m typing this, the Palisades Fire remains uncontained, having razed approximately 300 structures, as per the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
Mandy Moore Explained That Her House Didn’t Fully Burn Down, But Much Of Her Neighborhood Did
Mandy Moore has been actively using her Instagram to post updates about her own home and the town she lives in, Altadena. Yesterday, she noted on IG that her family and pets were safe and had evacuated, but wrote that her kids’ school and their favorite restaurants were gone.
Currently, she shared an update (you can check it out below) stating that a portion of her house was damaged, although it didn’t entirely catch fire. Regrettably, some of her dear relatives and acquaintances have suffered the loss of their homes entirely.
After managing to park and stride up our street, I found myself a witness to the devastation. Incredibly, our main house miraculously remains standing, albeit uninhabitable for now. Regrettably, Taylor and Griffin’s studio, along with every instrument and piece of equipment they’ve ever owned, was completely destroyed. Similarly, our garage and backhouse are no more. Everyone we know in this community has suffered the same fate—their homes wiped off the map. This includes my in-laws, my brother and sister-in-law who were just six weeks away from welcoming their first baby, our best friends—leaving us with a strange sense of survivor’s guilt. We are deeply attached to this community and will do everything within our power to aid in the rebuilding efforts and provide support. Thank you for your concern and offers of assistance. #AltadenaStrong

As per Cal Fire reports, the Eaton Fire has affected Altadena currently, with no containment as of now and a size of approximately 10,600 acres. Details regarding damaged or destroyed structures are still unavailable at this point.
All in all, the fires continue to burn, leaving countless individuals, including famous personalities such as Billy Crystal, Paris Hilton, Adam Brody, Leighton Meester, and others, without their homes. Additionally, many thousands whose names we may not recognize have had their lives disrupted and altered due to this devastating incident.
We’ll make sure to update you on how the ongoing situation in Los Angeles affects its residents and any changes to the 2025 movie release schedule and TV programming. Stay tuned!
