LEGO is broadening its alliance with video game consoles, as they’ve announced a forthcoming team-up with the classic gaming device, the Nintendo Game Boy. This collaboration follows whispers that a LEGO PlayStation 2 is in the pipeline and will soon be produced.
Set to evoke a nostalgic feel with its upcoming release, the LEGO Nintendo Game Boy seems modeled after the original design of the renowned portable gaming device, similar to the ATAR and NES replicas. In a recent teaser on X, Nintendo unveiled a sneak peek of the set, showcasing a pile of bricks that appear to be its components, including the distinctive purple buttons and directional pad. Nintendo of America shared along with the post, “Construct the classic Nintendo system in LEGO® style, arriving October 2025.
Previously, LEGO and Nintendo have teamed up on constructing sets, notably creating Super Mario and Mario Kart themed sets, which ranged from simpler models like the Pirhana Plant to more complex ones such as 16-bit Mario and Yoshi from Super Mario World, plus a massive Bowser. Last year, LEGO unveiled the Nintendo Entertainment System, and now they’re adding the Game Boy to their collection. Keep an eye out for this set’s release in October.
Build the classic Nintendo system in LEGO® form. Coming October 2025.
