In the first season of Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun, we are introduced to Nene Yashiro, a student who has a crush on an upperclassman. Upon hearing a tale, she encounters Hanako-kun, a supernatural being bound to the school’s girls’ restroom and one of its seven mysteries.
At first, Nene enlists Hanako’s aid to capture her affection, but instead, he finds himself drawn into the spirit world. There, he assists Hanako in dealing with unusual events. Together, they confront numerous dangers, make new friends, and unravel spiritual secrets. As their relationship strengthened, Nene also learns about Hanako’s troubled history.
In Episode 1 of Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Season 2, we find Nene and Kou Minamoto back on their mission to make the school’s ghostly tales more benign. After listening to her friend Aoi’s tale about the ‘Three Clock Keepers,’ an unusual event unfolds: students at Kamome Academy suddenly appear older one day, as if time has accelerated for them overnight.
Assuming that ‘The Three Timecaretakers’, Hanako, Nene, and Kou, are implicated, they embark on an investigation to unearth the facts about this peculiar event. Their actions will eventually bring them face-to-face with The Timecaretakers, enabling them to resolve this unusual mystery.
Titled ‘The First Enigma,’ Hanako-kun Season 2 Episode 1 will air in Japan on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 4:30 pm (Japan Standard Time). Since it’s a different timezone, international viewers can catch the English-subtitled version ahead of that same day.
The first episode of Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Season 2 will be broadcast simultaneously on 28 Japanese television stations that are affiliated with TBS.
