Among all the over-the-top antics in the Fast and Furious franchise, nothing beats the ongoing feud between me and one of my co-stars. As the man behind Dominic Toretto, I’ve always been outspoken, sharing thoughts that can sometimes be random or cryptic on social media. Recently, a post on my Instagram seems to suggest that the long-standing, seemingly unresolved conflict with my fellow actor [co-star’s name] has finally reached its end. Truly, it appears this time the feud is truly over and done with.
Following an uneasy greeting between Johnson and Diesel at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, there was some doubt about whether their disagreements had truly been resolved. However, a recent Instagram post from Diesel, featuring a picture of them both grinning, captioned “All love…always,” has put such speculations to rest. The casual banter and remarks the actors have exchanged about each other in the past now seem to be history, which is reassuring since the production for Fast X: Part 2 is slated to start this year.
In 2023, the movie “Fast X” was released without Dwayne Johnson’s character Luke Hobbs appearing until a post-credits scene, where it was hinted that he would be targeted by Jason Momoa’s villain, Dante Reyes. Despite numerous setbacks in production, the upcoming installment of the Fast and Furious series is expected to bring back Johnson and Diesel together on screen, making for an exciting reunion.
The ‘Fast and Furious’ Feud May Have Been Blown Out of Proportion
The conflicts between the two actors were particularly noticeable during the creation and marketing of movies such as “The Fate of the Furious” and “F9: The Fast Saga”. In these films, it appeared that Dwayne Johnson had chosen to depart from the main series to establish his own route within the “Fast” universe with the spin-off film “Hobbs and Shaw”. Social media posts by the star of “Black Adam”, which have since been removed, accused certain unnamed male co-stars of being unprofessional. Although the posts are no longer available, Johnson has affirmed that he still upholds the sentiments expressed in them.
Back in 2017, Vin Diesel weighed in on the rumored dispute between him and another actor. He spoke to People Magazine, saying that perhaps “the situation might have been exaggerated a bit. I don’t believe it was his intention. I understand he values my contributions to this franchise. To me, he’s like my Uncle Dwayne at home.
No matter what happens, it’s been quite noticeable that Johnson hasn’t appeared in the last two “Fast and Furious” movies. His captivating introduction in “Fast Five” is a major reason why that film stands out as one of the franchise’s best, and the character of Hobbs, along with his physical presence, really adds to the enjoyment of the films. If “Fast X: Part 2” begins production as planned, it will be exciting to see Hobbs join the Fast Family once more for their final ride, adding to the anticipated epic conclusion.
