EXCLUSIVE: Mukesh Khanna on Akshay Kumar’s portrayal of Prithviraj Chauhan; ‘Maine to unke director…’

In the 2022 historical drama “Samrat Prithviraj,” Akshay Kumar portrayed the character of Prithviraj Chauhan. More recently, Mukesh Khanna shared insights about Akshay’s appearance in the movie, and he also disclosed that he discussed this matter with Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the film’s director.

During a chat with TopMob’s Hindi Rush, renowned actor Mukesh Khanna (famous for his role as Shaktimaan) was asked about desired traits for the next Shaktimaan. He initially highlighted the significance of physical attributes.

Mukesh Khanna stated, “I’ve added Ram, Krishna, even Shaktimaan to the mix… these are classic characters. You can’t alter their appearances. If you’re wearing leather shoes, that’s a religious matter, but for Hanuman to say, ‘Your father’s oil will burn, my father’s Lanka will burn,’ is taking liberties and causing a stir in the public.

Then, he discussed Akshay Kumar’s representation of Prithviraj Chauhan in the film Samrat Prithviraj. He expressed that any actor should at least resemble Prithviraj Chauhan. However, people didn’t perceive Akshay as Prithviraj Chauhan because he didn’t put enough effort into it.

Mukesh Khanna shared that he had conducted an interview with the director of Samrat Prithviraj, Chandraprakash ji. He expressed his thoughts saying, “I asked him why he did it, why he put on a wig and sported a mustache, making Akshay resemble Akshay.

The actor needs to take care to portray Prithviraj Chauhan’s distinctive walk, as he should appear like Prithviraj Chauhan when standing upright; this requires effort.
